Hohhot First Hospital was founded in 1921. It was formerly a Belgian public hospital named Guisui Public Hospital. In 1984, it was renamed Hohhot First Hospital and is still in use today. It has now developed into a distinctive modern tertiary-level comprehensive hospital integrating medical treatment, scientific research, teaching, rehabilitation, prevention, and first aid. The hospital successfully established itself as a tertiary-level general hospital in 2023. In 2024, it was approved to become a university clinical medical school and a national standardized training base for residents. It was awarded the title of "Beautiful Hospital" by the National Health Commission and many other honors. In 2025, it won the title of "Seventh National Civilized Unit", and the national public hospital performance evaluation results announced in 2025 jumped from C+ to B, achieving promotion and upgrade, and the hospital's development level was comprehensively improved. The hospital has a construction area of ​​168,000 square meters and a bed capacity of 1,500.
