Pathology

The Pathology Department of Hohhot First Hospital currently has 12 staff members and 6 diagnosticians (including 1 chief physician, 2 attending physicians, and 3 resident physicians). There are 6 technicians and auxiliary personnel (1 deputy chief technician and 2 technicians). The Department of Pathology was established in 1958. After years of development, the Department of Pathology has become the department with the highest level of pathological diagnosis technology among medical units in Hohhot. It annually examines more than 10,000 surgical and biopsy specimens, more than 20,000 cases of cytology, more than 5,000 cases of immunohistochemistry, more than 10,000 cases of molecular etiology diagnosis, and more than 200 intraoperative frozen cases. The business scope has evolved from the original simple routine pathology diagnosis to a diagnostic department that can comprehensively use auxiliary methods such as immunopathology, molecular pathology, and cytopathology, playing an important role in disease diagnosis and patient medication guidance. In 2015, the department cooperated with Shanghai Fudan Clinical Pathology Diagnostic Center (located in Shanghai) to establish a cloud pathology difficult consultation platform, realizing remote pathology consultation, and the level of consultation and diagnosis ranks among the top in the country. In 2018, we cooperated with Xintu Pathological Diagnosis Center (located in Hohhot City). The diagnosticians of this center are American pathological diagnostic experts with first-class diagnostic skills.Through remote and on-site cooperation with two pathological diagnosis centers, the department can solve difficult pathological consultation and pathological technical issues more comprehensively and accurately.
