The Department of Respiratory Medicine (Department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine) of Hohhot First Hospital is a discipline integrating clinical, teaching, scientific research and management.
The department has 2 wards with a total of 92 beds. The RICU ward is currently being renovated and 8 RICU monitoring beds are expected to be opened.
In January 2019, the department won the title of "Standardized Construction Standard Unit of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine (PCCM) Department", and in the same period was rated as the only "interventional pulmonology single training base" in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, a rapid on-site evaluation training base for diagnostic interventional pulmonology, and a training base for rapid on-site evaluation of diagnostic interventional pulmonology. The Respiratory Quality Control Center was named a "National Sentinel Hospital" in 2023. In the same year, the National Clinical Research Center for Respiratory Diseases and the Guangzhou Respiratory Health Research Institute were established - a technical collaboration unit of Hohhot First Hospital. In 2024, it became a respiratory specialty medical consortium unit of Peking University Third Hospital.
Instrument settings:
The department has Philips Respironics, DRGER and other famous brand non-invasive ventilators, pulmonary function meters (Germany Jaeger pulmonary function meter), the department has Philips Respironics, DRGER and other famous brand non-invasive ventilators, pulmonary function meters (Germany Jaeger pulmonary function meter), FeNO (exhaled nitric oxide) Detection), multi-lead sleep apnea monitor, portable sleep apnea monitor imported from the United States, ECG, blood oxygen monitor, the most advanced electronic fiber bronchoscope (290 series) produced by Japan's Olympus, thoracoscope, German ERBE argon knife, cryosurgery and other advanced equipment.
Diagnosis and treatment features:
The department is able to skillfully diagnose and standardize the treatment of common and frequently-occurring diseases of the respiratory system, and has rich experience in critical respiratory diseases;
1. Airway diseases: chronic bronchitis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, bronchial asthma, bronchiectasis, tracheal and bronchial stenosis, tracheal tumors, tracheoesophageal fistula, etc.;
Infectious diseases: pneumonia, tuberculosis, lung abscess, pulmonary fungal disease, etc.;
2. Pulmonary vascular disease: pulmonary embolism, pulmonary hypertension, chronic pulmonary heart disease, etc.;
Pleural lesions: pleural effusion, pneumothorax, tuberculous pleurisy, pleural tumors, empyema;
3. Sleep breathing disorders: sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome;
4. Severe respiratory illness: severe pneumonia, ARDS, massive pulmonary embolism, shock, and multiple organ failure.
Develop critical illness treatment technologies such as invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation and deep vein puncture and catheterization.
Rare and difficult diseases of the respiratory system, such as interstitial lung disease.
The department is the only respiratory interventional single repair base in Inner Mongolia. Bronchoscopy interventional diagnosis and treatment is the specialty of the department. Currently, it not only carries out routine bronchoscopy procedures such as painless bronchoscopy routine examinations, microscopic biopsy and brushing, and transbronchoscopic alveolar lavage. We have also performed TBNA, TBLB, endoscopic ultrasound-guided puncture, LungPro-guided peripheral nodule puncture, rigid endoscopic airway mass opening, airway stenosis balloon dilatation and cryosurgery, and rigid endoscopic airway stent implantation. Highly difficult technologies in the field of respiratory intervention such as surgery, airway scar stenosis incision and release, bronchial foreign body removal, pediatric bronchoscopy, medical thoracoscopy, rapid on-site cytology evaluation, etc. are at the leading level in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and the department is in close cooperation with the general public. The State Respiratory Health Research Institute, Peking University Third Hospital, and Emergency General Hospital (former Coal Hospital) have established cooperation. Experts regularly visit our hospital for guidance and exchanges, aiming to continuously improve the quality of medical services and protect patients with respiratory diseases in Inner Mongolia!
