28FuxingRoad,WanshouRoadStreet.Itisalarge-scalemoderncomprehensivehospitalintegratingmedicalcare,healthcare,teaching,scientificresearch,prevention,rehabilitation,nuclear,biologicalandchemicalprotection,andmedicalrescue,andismovingtowardsbuildingaworld-classmilitaryhospital.

ThepredecessorofthehospitalwastheorganhospitaldirectlyundertheMilitaryCommission.TheredbloodlinecanbetracedbacktotheAugust1NanchangUprisingin1927.Withthecreationanddevelopmentofthepeople'sarmy,itwasdifficulttonurtureandgrowupinthegunfireandsmoke.

OnAugust5,1953,itwasformallyestablishedunderthecordialcareofChairmanMao,PremierZhou,Commander-in-ChiefZhuandotherfoundingfathers.OnAugust4,1954,itwasrenamedthe301stHospitalofthePeople'sLiberationArmy,andonJune6,1957,itwasrenamedtheGeneralHospitalofthePeople'sLiberationArmy.

OnNovember4,1958,theMilitaryMedicalCollege(renamedthePeople'sLiberationArmyMedicalCollegeinApril2012)wasestablished,openingaprecedentforthehospital.

Thehospitalhas21clinicalmedicaldepartments,8nationalkeydisciplines,3military"dual"disciplines,5nationalclinicalmedicalresearchcenters,7nationalkeyexperimentalplatformsrepresentedbynationalkeylaboratoriesforkidneydiseases,46provincialandministerial-levelandmilitarykeylaboratories,and61militarymedicalresearchinstitutesandspecialtycenters.
