Thoracic Surgery Surgery Department of First Medical Center Thoracic Surgery Department of First Medical Center was established in 1958. After several generations of efforts, it has developed into a comprehensive discipline with complete comprehensive diagnosis and treatment, outstanding specialty characteristics, sufficient talent reserve, and integrating medical treatment, health care, teaching and scientific research. There are currently 20 higher vocational experts and 80 professional and technical personnel, with more than 69,000 outpatient and emergency visits and nearly 4,000 surgeries every year. Thoracic surgery is driven by nine distinctive medical treatments, including chest war trauma treatment, precision surgery for pulmonary nodules, comprehensive and minimally invasive treatment of lung cancer, comprehensive and minimally invasive treatment of esophageal cancer, complex mediastinal tumor surgery, thoracic robotic surgery, multi-scope combined esophageal benign tumor surgery, lung transplantation, and transbronchial endoscopic treatment, and serves the broad masses of officers, soldiers and the people. The Department of Thoracic Surgery undertakes a number of major projects and general projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, national key R&D projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and military, provincial and ministerial-level projects. It has won many medical achievement awards and published more than 100 papers in important domestic and foreign journals. It is one of the first batch of approved thoracic surgery master's and doctoral degree awarding sites and postdoctoral mobile stations in the country. It currently has 2 doctoral supervisors and 3 master supervisors, and completes the training of about 40 graduate students, advanced students, interns, rotation students and base trainees every year.
