Department of Cardiovascular Medicine Department of Cardiovascular Medicine On June 29, 2020, the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine was officially established at the Sixth Medical Center of the People's Liberation Army General Hospital. There are currently 102 higher vocational experts and more than 300 medical staff. The Department of Cardiovascular Medicine has 12 subspecialties and 1 research institute including coronary heart disease department, arrhythmia department, structural heart disease department, hypertension department, heart failure department, pulmonary vascular and thrombotic diseases department, cardiac ultrasound department, adult cardiac surgery, pediatric cardiac surgery, large vascular surgery, anesthesia and cardiopulmonary bypass department, and critical care medicine department. The Ministry of Medicine has been rated by the state as a national key clinical specialty military construction project unit, the Army's Key Cardiovascular Laboratory for the Elderly, the Army's Cardiovascular Stress Laboratory, the chairing unit of the Army's Cardiovascular Medicine Professional Committee, and the Beijing Key Laboratory of Minimally Invasive Technology Research for Cardiovascular Diseases. It is a doctorate and master's degree granting unit and a postdoctoral mobile station. It is the Cardiac Interventional Training Base of the National Health Commission, the National Clinical Pharmacology Base, the Cardiovascular Specialist Training Base of the National Health Commission, the Chinese Nursing Association, the Beijing Nursing Association, the Army’s Critical Care Specialist Nurse and Cardiovascular Specialist Nurse Training Base, the National ECG Training Center, the Army’s Intensive Care Demonstration Training Base and the Nursing Standard Service Training Base.
