No. 51 Fucheng Road, Haidian, Fourth Medical Center The Department of Burns and Plastic Surgery of the Fourth Medical Center (formerly 304 Clinical Department) was established in April 2020. It is one of the earliest burn specialties established in my country. It was founded by Professor Sheng Zhiyong, the founder of burn medicine in my country and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. After 63 years of development and growth, the discipline has continued to innovate, highlighting the characteristics of critical and batch burn treatment, forming a good situation for the coordinated development of burns, wounds, plastic surgery and rehabilitation. It has two sub-specialties: burn department and plastic and reconstructive department. There are 71 military personnel, 30 civilian personnel, and currently there are 43 military personnel, 13 civilian personnel, and 127 professional and technical personnel. It is a national key discipline that integrates specialist treatment, scientific research, achievement transformation, and talent training, a national key clinical specialty, and a military burn institute. Responsible for combat readiness and emergency rescue tasks for major national and military emergencies, and successfully completed a number of major rescue tasks assigned by the country and the military, especially the joint logistics support force. He was honored with first-class collective merit by the Central Military Commission. In 2019, he was named a national innovation team in the field of burn treatment. He won the first and second prizes of the National Science and Technology Progress Award as the first completing unit, and more than 30 high-level scientific research achievements such as the first prize of the military and Beijing.
