Anesthesiology Department
The Second Affiliated Hospital of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine
The Anesthesiology Department of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine is a young and energetic team. Over the years, the Department of Anesthesiology has continued to improve itself, forge ahead, and gradually develop into perioperative medicine, participate in the treatment of clinical critical patients, carry out pain diagnosis and treatment, and form a relatively complete sub-specialty of anesthesiology - clinical anesthesia for various surgeries, comfortable medical care outside the operating room, first aid and resuscitation of critically ill patients, diagnosis and treatment of chronic pain, etc. The department has sent anesthetists to the leading hospitals in the domestic pain discipline to learn pain diagnosis and treatment techniques. Combined with the professional characteristics of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, it has now formed relatively complete core diagnosis and treatment techniques for the pain department, including ultrasound-guided stellate ganglion block technology, C-arm nerve block and ozone injection treatment under ultrasound guidance, minimally invasive spine interventional technology, minimally invasive interventional release analgesic treatment, ozone autohemotransfusion therapy, etc. Currently, the Department of Anesthesiology has a total of 14 doctors, including 2 chief physicians, 2 deputy chief physicians, 8 attending physicians, and 2 residents, including 1 doctoral candidate and 11 master's degree candidates. The nursing team in the operating room has 21 people, including 1 deputy chief nurse, 6 supervisor nurses, and 14 nurses, including 2 master's students and 19 undergraduates. The operating room is located on the 4th floor of the inpatient department. There are 9 operating rooms planned indoors, and 6 operating rooms are currently open. The operating room is equipped with high-standard laminar flow purification operating room, surgical anesthesia system, fully automatic multi-functional anesthesia machine, multi-parameter monitor, laparoscope, brain surgery microscope, X-ray C-arm, color ultrasound machine and other large and medium-sized equipment. At present, the Department of Anesthesiology has developed two disciplines: perioperative medicine and pain diagnosis and treatment. With the help of the platform and resources of the University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, it follows the professional path of anesthesia and pain rehabilitation treatment integrating traditional Chinese and Western medicine, and carries out clinical work in the four fields of operating room anesthesia, outdoor anesthesia, in-hospital first aid, pain clinic and in-hospital pain diagnosis and treatment. Various surgeries are performed in the operating room all year round, including: general surgery, gynecology, orthopedics, traditional Chinese medicine surgery, urology surgery, brain surgery, etc. Anesthesia outside the operating room includes painless abortion, painless hysteroscopy, painless gastroenteroscopy, painless bronchoscopy, cerebrovascular intervention, ERCP and other types of surgical anesthesia, which has laid a solid foundation for the development of hospital surgery and the improvement of comprehensive medical level. At the same time, it assists other departments with central venous puncture and catheter placement, infusion therapy, chemotherapy, etc. In addition, the anesthesiology department participates in the rescue work of critically ill patients in all clinical departments of the hospital, providing a reliable guarantee for the patient's life safety. In terms of chronic pain treatment, pain diagnosis and treatment technologies such as ozone autohemorrhage treatment, chronic neck, shoulder, waist and leg pain treatment, diabetic foot analgesia treatment, headache, trigeminal neuralgia treatment, herpes zoster treatment technology, and stellate ganglion block technology have been developed. After intense preliminary preparations, the Department of Anesthesiology will officially open the pain clinic in August 2022. The scope of diagnosis and treatment includes chronic pain in muscles and soft tissues, rheumatoid and gouty diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, gouty arthritis, and head and face pain, such as trigeminal neuralgia, migraine, and cluster. Sexual headache, cervicogenic headache, glossopharyngeal neuralgia, etc.; neck, shoulder, waist and leg pain; pathological neuralgia, such as herpes zoster and post-herpetic neuralgia, diabetic neuralgia, intercostal neuralgia, tendon and synovial bursal diseases, such as ganglion cyst, bursitis, tennis elbow, tenosynovitis, various cancerous pain and non-painful diseases. The early treatment projects include ozone autohemorrhage therapy and ultrasound-guided stellate ganglion block as the key promotion projects for outpatient treatment. Ultrasound-guided cervical, lumbar and peripheral nerve block and ozone therapy, intra-articular injection and pain point treatment, myofascial release, etc. are carried out. Although the pain clinic has not been open for a long time, the initial treatment effects have been greatly praised by patients. The opening of pain clinics can popularize pain knowledge and strengthen precise pain treatment, thereby providing efficient services to more pain patients! The operating room of the Department of Anesthesia attaches great importance to counterpart support work. Two nurses participated in the anti-epidemic work in Hubei and two doctors participated in the medical aid work in Africa. In addition, many teachers in the operating room of the anesthesiology department are responsible for some of the undergraduate teaching work in the Western Foreign Language Teaching and Research Section of Tianjin University of Chinese Medicine, as well as the core teaching work in the clinical simulation teaching center. The teaching content covers perioperative safety and quality control, anesthesia and monitoring of critically ill patients, cardiopulmonary and cerebral resuscitation, minimally invasive pain treatment, etc., which has played a role in promoting the development of the school's anesthesia discipline.
