Department of Cardiology

The Department of Cardiology of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Tianjin University of Chinese Medicine is a key discipline of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, a key discipline and specialty of Tianjin, the leading unit of the Tianjin Cardiovascular Specialty Alliance of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and the presiding unit of the Cardiovascular Professional Committee of the Tianjin Society of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine. With the main line of "safety, stability and clean government, service technology costs, and subject talent characteristics", the department adheres to the coordinated development of medicine, teaching, and research, and has formed a discipline construction system integrating prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation. The department consists of three wards, as well as a cardiac intensive care unit (CCU), a catheterization laboratory, an electrocardiogram laboratory, and a cardiac rehabilitation center. It currently has 84 medical staff, 5 doctoral supervisors, 12 master's supervisors, 5 nationally renowned old Chinese medicine instructors, and 5 national outstanding Chinese medicine clinical talents from the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The staff structure is reasonable and the technology is advanced. The department has successively undertaken and completed 1 national “973” project, 3 major national science and technology projects, 2 national key research and development plan projects, 12 National Natural Fund projects, more than 20 provincial and ministerial projects, won 6 Science and Technology Progress Awards, and published 133 academic papers in the past 5 years, including 15 SCI papers, which has strong academic influence.
