Radiology Department

The Radiology Department of Tianjin First Central Hospital is a discipline with modern working models and modern medical equipment. In 1998, the Tianjin Institute of Imaging Medicine was established. After more than 20 years of development and the efforts of Professor Qi Ji, Professor Shen Wen and other generations, an operating model and talent echelon that are in line with international standards have been formed. The disciplines have balanced development and comprehensive technology in terms of medical care, scientific research, teaching, etc., and the overall level ranks among the advanced levels in Tianjin. It has advanced diagnostic and treatment equipment with complete types and functions (1 1.5T MRI, 3 3.0T MRI; 16-slice spiral CT, 1 dual-source CT, 1 gem CT, 1 320-slice CT; 3 DSA; 1 digital gastrointestinal; DR3, 1 breast DR, and 1 bone density meter). The department consists of five academic groups: head and neck, musculoskeletal, abdomen, chest, and interventional. Doctors above the associate senior level have divided their work and clarified their professional direction, forming a scientific research system that advances neurological imaging diagnosis, chest imaging diagnosis, breast imaging diagnosis, bone and joint imaging diagnosis, abdominal imaging diagnosis, vascular disease imaging diagnosis, and interventional treatment in parallel, which has greatly promoted the improvement of clinical technology.The general practice currently has 7 chief physicians, 1 researcher, 5 deputy chief physicians, and 3 deputy chief technicians. There are 2 postdoctoral fellows, 12 doctoral degree holders, and 11 master’s degree holders. Undergraduate students have postdoctoral mobile station qualifications. There is 1 former chairman of the Chinese Society of Radiology, 1 national committee member of the Chinese Society of Radiology, 1 youth committee member of the Chinese Society of Radiology, 1 member each of the abdominal group, musculoskeletal group, and magnetic resonance group of the Chinese Society of Radiology, 1 deputy chairman of the Chinese Society of Imaging Technology, and 1 young committee member of the Chinese Society of Imaging Technology. There are 3 members of the Tianjin Society of Radiology, 1 director and 2 committee members of the Tianjin Society of Imaging Technology. One person is awarded a title of expert by Tianjin City, and one person enjoys a government subsidy from the State Council. There is one honorary editor-in-chief of the Chinese Journal of Radiology, one honorary editor-in-chief of the International Journal of Radiology, and 20 associate editors and editorial board members of 12 other domestic professional journals. The subject leader, Director Shen Wen, is currently a doctoral supervisor at Tianjin Medical University and a master's supervisor at Nankai University School of Medicine.He is a national member of the Radiology Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, a standing committee member (executive director) of the Chinese Society of Medical Imaging Technology, a standing committee member of the Radiology Branch of the China Association for the Promotion of International Medical Healthcare, a standing member of the Medical Imaging Expert Committee of the Chinese Women Physicians Association, a member of the Imaging Medicine Expert Committee of the Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Physicians Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association, a member of the MDT Special Committee of the Surgeons Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association, and a member of the Radiology Branch Committee of the Chinese Medical Imaging Technology Research Association. He is also the deputy chairman of the Chinese Association for the Prevention and Control of STDs and AIDS, a member of the Medical Science and Technology Working Committee of the China Science and Technology Innovation and Strategic Development Research Center, a standing member of the Tumor Imaging Diagnostic Committee of the Chinese Association of Research Hospitals, a deputy chairman of the Tianjin Radiology Society, a standing member of the Tumor Imaging Professional Committee of the Tianjin Anti-Cancer Association, a deputy director of the Tianjin Quality Control Center, a member of the Tianjin Medical Accident Appraisal Committee, a member of the Tianjin Emergency Management Expert Group, etc.; the deputy editor-in-chief of the International Journal of Medical Radiology, and the editorial board and standing editorial board of more than ten magazines such as Chinese Radiology. At the same time, he won 1 National Science and Technology Progress Award, 1 Tianjin Science and Technology Progress Award, and 3 Tianjin Health Bureau Science and Technology Progress Awards; won more than 20 Tianjin Science and Technology Achievements; edited or co-edited 19 books;In the past five years, he has published 16 SCI articles, undertaken and participated in more than 10 national, provincial and municipal projects, and published more than 80 articles in recent years. The discipline actively develops new technologies and has introduced 10 new technology projects, filling the gaps in Tianjin's health system. New areas of work currently being carried out: 1. Research on the clinical application of magnetic resonance vascular wall imaging of the head and neck, multi-modal research on cerebrovascular diseases, whole-brain CT perfusion combined with head and neck CTA, comparative studies of pCASL and DSC to evaluate different blood supply areas and different degrees of cerebral ischemia, 3.0TMR quantitative susceptibility mapping research on brain iron deposition in normal people and hemodialysis patients, and quantitative MRI research on the mechanism of brain iron overload caused by intravenous iron supplementation in patients with end-stage renal disease. 2. CT-guided microwave ablation treatment of benign and malignant tumors, CT-guided aspiration of liquid lesions and catheter drainage.3. Interventional therapy of drug-loaded microspheres for recurrent liver cancer after liver transplantation, renal CT perfusion imaging, renal CT dual-energy imaging, multi-modal quantitative study of multi-organ iron overload in transfusion-dependent diseases, multi-parameter MRI early prediction of the efficacy of endocrine therapy for prostate cancer, postpartum pelvic floor M R screening, dynamic MRI study of the correlation between pelvic floor organ prolapse and levator ani muscle defect and clinical conditions, dynamic MRI study of female anterior vaginal wall prolapse and its application in clinical evaluation of pelvic floor surgery, MRI study of stress urinary incontinence, MRI study of sacral nerves in pelvic floor pain, etc. 4. Brachial plexus MR imaging, clinical application of functional MR in the evaluation of active lesions of sacroiliitis, research on the prediction of the outcome of RA in undifferentiated arthritis combined with functional MR, experimental research on osteochondral regeneration technology in the treatment of femoral head necrosis, finite element analysis of biomechanics of the first metatarsal bone in hallux valgus and rotation osteotomy, etc. The disciplinary radiation capabilities extend all around Tianjin and across the country, and it has held many national continuing education classes and trained multiple trainees for grassroots hospitals every year.Since its establishment in our hospital, the Tianjin Radiation Diagnostic Quality Control Center has won the “Excellence Award for Medical Imaging Diagnostic Report Quality Control”, “Excellence Award for DR Quality Control”, “Excellence Award for MRI Quality Control” and “Excellence Award for CT Quality Control” issued by the Tianjin Municipal Health Bureau every year. The discipline has undertaken and participated in 99 projects at all levels, including 5 National Natural Science Foundation projects (3 projects undertaken and 2 cooperation projects), 2 National Social Science Fund cooperation projects, 3 national "Ninth Five-Year Plan" key project cooperation projects, 1 Tianjin Municipal key research project, 3 Tianjin Municipal Natural Science Foundation projects, 2 Tianjin Municipal Science and Technology Commission projects, and 12 Tianjin Municipal Bureau-level projects; it has won 17 achievement awards at all levels. Currently hosting/cooperating on 19 research projects. Among them, 7 are at the national level, 4 are at the provincial and municipal levels, and 7 are at the bureau level. Won one third prize of the (first) Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award, 9 Tianjin Science and Technology Progress Awards (4 second prizes, 5 third prizes), and 9 Tianjin Municipal Health Bureau Science and Technology Progress Awards. He has published 50 books and more than 400 papers, including more than 35 SCI papers. He has given more than 20 speeches at international radiology conferences such as the North American Radiological Society and the European Radiological Society.We have cooperation and exchanges with many universities and laboratories at home and abroad, such as the Department of Radiology, Pennsylvania State University School of Medicine, Department of Radiology, Kupao University School of Medicine, Finland, Emory University School of Medicine, Atlanta, USA, Department of Radiology, Jinling Clinical Hospital, Nanjing Medical University, etc. Among them, there are 2 cooperation projects with the Department of Radiology, School of Medicine, Kupao University, Finland. The discipline has trained 21 doctors and 126 masters. It is the master's degree program of Nankai University School of Medicine. He has long served as a teaching and clinical instructor for five-year and seven-year undergraduate and graduate students of Tianjin Medical University, as well as Tianjin Armed Police Medical College and Tianjin Medical College. It is a training base for residents of the Tianjin Municipal Health Bureau. 72 residents specializing in imaging medicine have completed a three-year training at the base. The Department of Radiology, founded by Professor Qi Ji, has gone through the efforts of several generations and now appears in front of everyone as a modern first-class department with a large number of talents and strong strength, but we will not be complacent or stagnate.
