Anesthesiology Department
Tianjin First Central Hospital
The Anesthesiology Department of Tianjin First Central Hospital was established in 1990. After decades of unremitting efforts, it has developed into a comprehensive modern department integrating clinical anesthesia, intensive care and resuscitation, pain treatment, clinical teaching and scientific research. It undertakes some teaching tasks and internship tasks for clinical medical undergraduates and anesthesiology undergraduates of Tianjin Medical University. It has become a master's degree training center for Tianjin Medical University and Nankai University School of Medicine, and is one of the professional training bases for resident anesthesiology in Tianjin. The anesthesiology department was led by Dr. Du Hongyin, a well-known anesthesiology expert and former vice president of Tianjin First Central Hospital. By the end of 2011, the total number of medical staff in the anesthesia department and the nursing department of the surgery center reached 110, including 14 with senior professional titles, 30 with intermediate professional titles, 3 with doctoral degrees, and 28 with master's degrees. Currently, there are 6 operating rooms with 100-level laminar flow purification, 10 operating rooms with 1,000-level laminar flow purification, and 18 beds in the anesthesia recovery room with 10,000-level purification. The purification equipment, anesthesia pendants, surgical pendants, anesthesia machines, ventilators, and monitors are all imported from Europe and the United States. The anesthesia machine and monitor are from the brand Datax-Ohmeda and are equipped with arrhythmia analysis, body temperature monitoring, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, neuromuscular transmission function monitoring, anesthetic gas monitoring and analysis, and end-tidal CO2 monitoring. At the same time, it is equipped with multiple sets of blood recovery machines, heated infusion sets, radiant warming meters, continuous cardiac output monitors, defibrillators, micro-infusion pumps, transesophageal ultrasound detectors, fiberoptic bronchoscopes, vascular B-ultrasound machines, blood gas analyzers, Sonoclot coagulation analyzers, colloid osmotic pressure monitors, ACT detectors and other equipment for clinical anesthesia use. The Department of Anesthesiology handles more than 10,000 clinical anesthesia cases throughout the year, with organ transplantation anesthesia as its main feature, covering general surgery, orthopedics, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, oral surgery, neurosurgery, thoracic and cardiovascular surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatric surgery, outpatient and operating room anesthesia, and also has anesthesia recovery rooms, pain treatment and other sub-specialties. The Anesthesiology Department has so far completed thousands of anesthesia cases for various types of organ transplants, including liver transplantation, kidney transplantation, combined liver-kidney transplantation, combined pancreas-kidney transplantation, and heart transplantation.Among them, the successful implementation of several difficult surgeries such as pediatric liver transplantation, domino liver transplantation, and volume-reduced split liver transplantation fully reflects the advanced professional level of the anesthesiology department. Since the cardiovascular surgery department was established at the end of 2008, anesthesiologists and recovery room doctors have worked together to ensure the success of several difficult congenital heart disease and CABG surgeries, which has greatly promoted the development of cardiac surgery and made the scope of this discipline more comprehensive. In recent years, the number of pain treatment outpatient clinics has increased significantly, and the number of inpatients has been gradually expanded. It is now able to complete a variety of pain treatment surgeries such as cervical spondylosis interventional treatment and lumbar disc herniation interventional treatment. The Department of Anesthesiology is responsible for the teaching tasks of multi-level personnel and the training of postgraduate students, including the teaching and clinical internship of undergraduates at Tianjin Medical University, the training of master's students at Tianjin Medical University, the seven-year master's internship and training at Nankai University School of Medicine, the standardized anesthesia professional training for residents in Tianjin, and the teaching of anesthesia trainees across the country. The department currently has 6 postgraduate students, 10 standardized training doctors, 8 undergraduate interns, and 4 rotation and training doctors. The department promotes academic exchanges at home and abroad, arranging many people to participate in domestic and foreign academic conferences every year. It also promotes a resident training system and holds regular expert lectures or case discussions every week. In recent years, the Department of Anesthesiology has undertaken a number of scientific research projects, won 2 first-class ministerial awards, published more than 10 articles in various journals every year, and participated in the writing and translation of many anesthesia monographs. Projects undertaken include: regulation of coagulation function in the perioperative period of liver transplantation (Tianjin 20043075, first-class ministerial award), application of blood protection in liver transplantation (Tianjin 20063132, first-class ministerial award), establishment of individualized perioperative infusion of liver transplantation Blood assessment system (05KY07), the mechanism and prevention of liver transplantation reperfusion syndrome (05YFJMJC4800), changes in cerebral oxygen metabolism during the perioperative period of liver transplantation (04ky11, third prize of Tianjin Science and Technology Progress Award 2009), etc.
