The Department of Burns and Plastic Surgery of Tianjin First Central Hospital is one of the city's burn treatment, plastic surgery and beauty medical centers. It was established in the 1960s and is a professional department for burn treatment, medical plastic surgery and beauty. Since its establishment, it has treated tens of thousands of burn patients of various types and trained thousands of doctors from all over the country. In 1958, it successfully treated burnt workers (the total area of ​​burns was 86%, 69% III degree), and was awarded the "National Health Red Flag Advanced Unit" for this purpose. The hospital has successfully treated more than 90% of patients with total burn area and third-degree burn area. The success rate in rescuing severe burns has always maintained an advanced level, especially in wound repair, treatment of multiple organ dysfunction, enteral and parenteral nutritional therapy, treatment of burns combined with lung damage, and combined traditional Chinese and Western treatments. It has unique advantages. Our department has been conducting plastic surgery since the early 1980s. It is a unit that conducts research and application of skin and soft tissue expanders, especially the application of various skin flaps, reconstruction of auricles, breasts, fingers and other body surface organs, scar treatment and medical cosmetology. Our department enjoys high academic prestige in China and has long-term cooperation and exchanges with Mary Hospital in Hong Kong and Uppsla University in Sweden. More than ten medical papers and 1-2 provincial and municipal scientific research achievements are completed every year.There are currently 7 chief physicians and deputy chief physicians in the department, and more than 90% of the doctors have master's degrees.
