The Department of Orthopedics of Tianjin First Central Hospital is a comprehensive tertiary-level hospital that integrates medical care, teaching, scientific research, and prevention. It is one of the medical centers in Tianjin. At present, the hospital has 3,500 beds and 42 clinical professional departments, including 3 national key clinical specialty construction projects, 2 municipal key specialties, 6 municipal research institutes, and has the Ministry of Health’s Key Laboratory of Critical Care and Emergency Medicine and a clinical medicine postdoctoral workstation. The Department of Orthopedics was founded in the late 1970s. Under the careful cultivation of several veteran directors such as Qiang Yizhi, Wu Chunmin, You Wei, Yao Shuyuan, and Jiang Wenxue, and under the leadership of the current department director, Professor Xia Qun, the Department of Orthopedics has developed into a comprehensive department integrating clinical, teaching, and scientific research through the joint efforts of several generations, occupying an important place in the orthopedics community in Tianjin. At present, the orthopedics department has a complete staff structure, complete echelon construction, strong disciplinary strength, and is equipped with an orthopedics-specific rehabilitation physiotherapy department and a bone tissue bank laboratory. The soon-to-be-relocated No. 1 Central Hospital (Shuixi Campus) will have 150 orthopedic beds. Clinical subspecialties are divided into spine surgery, joint surgery, sports medicine, hand and foot surgery, multiple trauma emergency center, geriatric orthopedics, etc.It has advanced orthopedic medical equipment such as orthopedic surgical robots, G-arm X-ray machines, C-arm X-ray machines, arthroscopes, transforaminal mirrors, radiofrequency ablation intervertebral disc treatment equipment, shock wave treatment equipment, surgical microscopes, ultrasonic osteotomies, debridement water jets, spinal cord nerve function monitors, medical infrared thermal imaging cameras, etc., which can complete the diagnosis and treatment of various complex orthopedic diseases. Features of the department: 1. Diagnosis and treatment of hip joint diseases; 2. Artificial knee joint and patellar joint replacement; 3. Minimally invasive treatment of bunion valgus; 4. Minimally invasive cervical and lumbar discectomy under microscope; 5. Radiofrequency treatment of cervical spondylosis, lumbar disc herniation and lumbar discogenic low back pain; 6. Knee joint injury and pain and examination and treatment of knee arthroscopy; 7. Treatment of femoral head necrosis after kidney transplantation; 8. Diagnosis and treatment of shoulder joint diseases.
