General Surgery Department
Tianjin First Central Hospital
The General Surgery Department of Tianjin First Central Hospital is one of the departments with the longest history. It has many famous surgical experts at home and abroad. The former department director, Professor Huang Yaoquan, once served as the deputy director of the Surgery Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, the deputy leader of the National Biliary Tractology Group, and the deputy leader of the National Liver Surgery Group. He is a famous hepatobiliary surgery expert in my country and enjoys a high reputation in the domestic and foreign medical circles. Professor Jiang Tao, former director of the department, served as deputy leader of the pancreatic group of the Chinese Surgical Association, chairman of the Tianjin Surgical Association, and an expert enjoying special allowances from the State Council. Professor Shen Zhongyang, director of the Department of General Surgery, founded my country's first professional transplant team in 1998. Eight years later, it built Asia's largest organ transplant center, the Oriental Organ Transplant Center. In 2006, it was awarded the "China Liver Transplant Training Center" by the Chinese Medical Foundation in the United States. He served as the deputy director of the Organ Transplantation Branch of the Chinese Medical Association and is a well-known organ transplant expert at home and abroad.Under the leadership of successive well-known experts and professors at home and abroad, the General Surgery Department has formed a professional department with fine traditions and distinctive characteristics. It has 109 open beds, 1 doctoral supervisor, 5 master supervisors, 14 chief physicians, and 11 deputy chief physicians. It integrates complete medical facilities, surgical experts with excellent skills and a good medical education system, and plays an important role in the medical treatment, education and scientific research of our hospital. With the continuous deepening of disciplinary specialization, general surgery has basically formed specialties and specialties. It has three sub-specialty departments: hepatobiliary surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, and thyroid and breast hernia surgery, and has an independent surgical emergency department. The specialty covers abdominal surgical diseases, including liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen diseases, gastrointestinal tract, anorectal diseases, thyroid, breast, hernia and abdominal wall diseases, weight loss metabolic diseases, gastroesophageal reflux disease, acute abdomen, etc. It also routinely performs liver transplantation and treats post-transplant surgical complications and transplant-related diseases. The wide application of minimally invasive technology in various surgeries of general surgery is a distinctive advantage of the department. Currently, it ranks at the domestic leading level in the fields of single-port laparoscopic surgery, laparoscopic liver resection, laparoscopic gastric and colorectal surgery, pancreatic cancer surgery, transoral vestibuloscopic thyroid surgery, transaxillary approach laparoscopic thyroid surgery, minimally invasive rotational resection of breast nodules, hybrid hernia surgery, and active volume reduction surgery. At the same time, it has the country's leading da Vinci robot, fiber electronic duodenoscope, choledochoscope, hyperthermic perfusion chemotherapy, thyroid microwave or radiofrequency ablation treatment, esophageal manometry and dynamic 24hpH-impedance joint monitoring system. Academic leader: Professor Tanichuan. Department Administrative Director and Party Branch Secretary: Professor Zhang Yamin. Precision, minimally invasive, and intelligent are the development directions of modern surgery, and are also the core technical pursuits of the general surgery department of Tianjin First Central Hospital. Relying on our hospital’s national key subject organ transplant center and integrating modern surgical concepts, the general surgery department has established a patient-centered comprehensive medical model. The characteristics of the department include: 1. Comprehensive treatment of malignant tumors. With minimally invasive surgery as its core, the department takes advantage of the general hospital's favorable conditions of complete disciplines and complete technical equipment to conduct systematic treatment of hepatobiliary tumors, gastrointestinal malignant tumors, thyroid, and breast tumors by combining targeted, immunotherapy, and traditional Chinese medicine treatments. In particular, multidisciplinary joint diagnosis and treatment is adopted for patients with comorbidities, which greatly improves the quality of life and survival rate of patients. 2. Minimally invasive surgery. Laparoscopic liver resection and pancreatic surgery; laparoscopic and robotic minimally invasive techniques for the treatment of gastric cancer and colorectal cancer; ultrasound-guided microwave ablation for thyroid nodular disease, transoral vestibular laparoscopic thyroid surgery, transaxillary laparoscopic thyroid surgery; minimally invasive rotational resection of breast nodules and other procedures to ensure that patients achieve the most radical and thorough surgical resection and the best cosmetic surgery results with minimal trauma. 3. Combined with living donor liver transplantation technology, we can carry out surgery for advanced tumors with vascular invasion or tumor embolism that cannot be cured by traditional surgery. Taking advantage of the unique advantages of the transplant center's cryopreserved human blood vessel bank and superb microsurgical vascular anastomosis technology, human cryopreserved blood vessels are used to replace blood vessels invaded by tumors, and difficult surgeries such as liver cancer, pancreatic cancer, and gastrointestinal tumors that cannot be cured by traditional surgery with blood vessel invasion or tumor thrombus are performed.4. Diagnosis and treatment of surgical complications after organ transplantation and secondary malignant tumors. Using advanced duodenoscope system, PTCD or PTBD combined with ERCP or ENBD technology, we can treat hepatolithiasis, biliary stricture and malignant tumors after liver transplantation. He has extensive experience in clinical treatment of new malignant tumors after transplantation, such as gastrointestinal tumors, pancreatic tumors, recurrence of liver cancer, etc. By screening high-risk patients after transplantation, we can specifically formulate individualized diagnosis and treatment plans, and rely on surgery, chemotherapy, targeted therapy and other methods to strive for better prognosis and quality of life for patients. 5. Routinely perform preperitoneal space tension-free repair of inguinal hernia and laparoscopic tension-free repair of inguinal hernia. It can minimize the recurrence rate of postoperative hernia. Huge abdominal incisional hernias are treated using hybrid hernia surgery, active volume reduction surgery, and tissue structure separation techniques. 6. Minimally invasive surgical treatment of obesity and diabetes. Minimally invasive techniques are used to perform bariatric surgeries such as greater curvature plication and sleeve gastrectomy, which have the advantages of less trauma, faster recovery, and better cosmetic results. 7. Laparoscopic treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease and hiatal hernia. The professional group used advanced esophageal manometry and dynamic 24hpH-impedance joint monitoring system to develop a standardized and systematic process for the diagnosis, surgical treatment, and postoperative guidance of gastroesophageal reflux disease and hiatal hernia.
