The Laboratory Department of Tianjin People's Hospital has been jointly established since May 2004 by the laboratory departments of Tianjin Second Central Hospital, Tianjin Red Cross Hospital, Tianjin Binjiang Hospital, and Tianjin Nationalities Hospital, covering an area of ​​more than 1,200 square meters. There are 6 professional groups and clinical trial bases including biochemistry room, immunology room, microbiology room, clinical examination room (including thrombosis and hemostasis, hemorrheology), outpatient logistics room, molecular biology laboratory (including HIV and STD laboratory). The Department of Laboratory Science currently has 82 employees, including 9 with senior professional titles and 34 with intermediate professional titles. Under the leadership of Director Liu Rui, the leader of the department and master's tutor, the professional level of technical personnel has been comprehensively improved through business training, job rotation, assessment, continuing education and other learning methods inside and outside the hospital. The department has sent 13 comrades to study in outstanding laboratories abroad and domestically, and applied advanced technology to clinical testing. A high-level team of inspection technicians ensures that the inspection level is at the forefront of the city. At present, the department has 129 sets of various advanced instruments and equipment worth more than 15 million yuan, which fully meets the needs of clinical testing and scientific research work.The department has currently carried out 559 clinical testing projects, including the application of flow cytometry to detect HLA-B27 for the diagnosis of ankylosing spondylitis and the application of fluorescence microscopy to detect inflammatory bowel disease autoantibodies. These two are independently carried out by Tianjin, which provide more reliable laboratory basis for the clinical diagnosis of such diseases. In May 2009, a morphology team was established, consisting of 3 senior morphology experts and 6 inspectors with good morphology foundation. The team will apply the basic morphology of various types of cells they have mastered in clinical work, bringing the level of morphological detection of blood and urine to a higher level. The "Clinical Trial Base" planned to be established in August 2005 is an experimental platform for the whole hospital and is responsible for the scientific research and experimental work of the whole hospital. In recent years, the Department of Laboratory Science has presided over the completion of 5 scientific research achievements in Tianjin, 3 of which won the second and third prizes of the Municipal Health Bureau's Scientific and Technological Progress Awards; filled more than 10 gaps in new medical and health technologies in our city; and published hundreds of papers. Currently, he is leading the research on 2 projects established by the Tianjin Municipal Health Bureau (one of which is a key project). For its outstanding work, the Department of Laboratory Science has been rated as the "Youth Civilization Award" at the bureau level of the Tianjin Municipal Health Bureau and the Tianjin Municipal level. In 2005, it was rated as the Integrity Department at the bureau level of Tianjin Municipality. In the 2006 hospital management annual evaluation activity, it was highly praised by the Ministry of Health's inspection expert group and was evaluated as "a dynamic, highly cohesive and enterprising collective".In 2009, it was rated as an advanced collective at the hospital level and a model employee family in Tianjin. In November 2009, it successfully passed the on-site review of ISO:15189 international standardized laboratory quality management system accreditation, becoming the second laboratory in this city to pass the review. The Department of Laboratory Medicine is responsible for the internship teaching of more than 20 college students from several medical schools and departments of laboratory medicine every year. In 2007 and 2009, it was rated as an "Excellent Practice Base" by the Department of Laboratory Medicine of Tianjin Medical University. The department also undertakes the teaching tasks of the Department of Medical Laboratory Medicine of Tianjin Medical College. Among them, "Clinical Biochemistry Testing Technology" was rated as a municipal-level quality course by the Tianjin Municipal Education Commission in 2008, and was rated as a national-level quality course in 2009. In 2009, the "Medical Laboratory Technology Team" of the Department of Laboratory Science was rated as "Tianjin Excellent Teaching Team" by the Tianjin Municipal Education Commission.
