The Chest Department of Tianjin People's Hospital was established in 1956. It is one of the departments in China (Tianjin) that specializes in the diagnosis and critical care treatment of chest diseases. The department adopts a model of integrating thoracic medicine and surgical resources to make the diagnosis and treatment of chest diseases in the hospital more advanced. Thanks to the hard work of experts and professors such as Zhao Heyan, Tian Liudi, Fu Chunhui, Wang Shuchuan, Zhao Hui, Liu Linlin, and Lu Qiang, the thoracic department has always been in a leading position in Tianjin. It can carry out all general chest surgeries, and its disease diagnosis rate, surgical success rate and patient survival rate have reached the first-class level in the city. Responsible for the rescue work of various chest trauma in the northwest region of Tianjin. The department has been carrying out minimally invasive surgery for the past eight years, and has completed more than a thousand cases of bullae resection, mediastinal resection and other surgeries through thoracoscopic surgery, achieving satisfactory results such as less trauma, less pain, quick postoperative recovery, and short hospitalization time. The Department of Chest is the city’s clinical, research and resident talent training base for respiratory medicine. There are currently 6 sub-professional groups, including the chronic obstructive pulmonary disease professional group; the respiratory failure and respiratory support technology professional group; the pulmonary interstitial disease and mediastinal and pleural diseases professional group; the bronchial asthma and respiratory allergic diseases professional group; the infection and clinical microbiology professional group; the respiratory system tumor professional group; and the surgical operation group.Professional medical team: Currently, the department has two wards with 50 beds and 20 doctors. 2 chief physicians. There are 7 deputy chief physicians. 6 master students. More than 200 thoracotomy surgeries are performed every year. In addition to achieving outstanding results in many years of work, combined with the new trend in the development of diagnosis and treatment of chest diseases, he took the lead in carrying out thoracoscopy, small incision lung resection, hand hyperhidrosis, biopsy and other technologies in the city. Currently, more than 1,000 cases of thoracotomy have been completed, with remarkable results. It has truly reduced surgical trauma, alleviated patient pain and economic burden, shortened hospitalization time and improved diagnosis and treatment. The head nurse of the thoracic surgery department went to Shanghai Ruijin Hospital, Beijing Friendship Hospital, and Beijing Anzhen Hospital to learn professional nursing theory, and accumulated a lot of experience in long-term practice, leading a professional nursing team. The diseases treated include: the diagnosis and treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), pulmonary hypertension, and pulmonary heart disease are at the leading level in the country; respiratory critical illness, respiratory failure treatment and respiratory support technology; diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary thromboembolism; surgical treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease; minimally invasive surgical treatment of chest diseases;Comprehensive treatment of thoracic malignancies. The annual outpatient visits total more than 40,000, and the annual inpatient surgeries are 200. Professional hardware facilities: In view of the characteristics of high risk and high surgical complications such as early screening of lung cancer and thoracotomy, the hospital has introduced narrow-light bronchoscopy, mediastinoscopy, thoracoscopy, local anesthesia thoracoscopy, pulmonary function, non-invasive ventilator and other equipment, which are currently the most advanced diagnostic, treatment and surgical equipment in the country. The device can perform minimally invasive surgery on lung tumors. It plays an important role in the early diagnosis and early treatment of lung cancer. It can also accurately stage lung cancer before surgery, so that lung cancer patients can receive standardized and individualized treatment.
