The Heart Disease Diagnosis and Treatment Center of Tianjin People's Hospital was formerly known as the Cardiology Department of Tianjin Second Central Hospital. It was established in the 1990s and is one of the departments in China that specializes in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. Under the hard work of experts and professors such as Ni Shizhen, Sun Genyi, Liu Keqiang, and Yao Zhuhua, the cardiovascular department has always been in a leading position in our city. Medical teaching and research work has developed in an all-round way. The medical team of the Heart Disease Diagnosis and Treatment Center currently has 100 beds, 27 physicians, 3 professors, 5 associate professors, 3 chief physicians, and 7 deputy chief physicians. There is 1 doctoral candidate and 20 master's degree candidates. More than 1,000 cardiovascular surgeries are performed every year. Director Yao Zhuhua, the subject leader of the heart center, holds a master's degree and has been engaged in cardiovascular clinical work for more than 20 years. He has accumulated rich experience in coronary heart disease interventional treatment and pacing electrophysiology. He has completed more than 2,000 coronary stent surgeries and more than 500 permanent pacemaker installations with satisfactory results. The head nurse of the heart center has rich professional nursing theories and has accumulated a lot of experience in long-term practice, leading a professional nursing team. The diseases treated include: coronary heart disease, rheumatic heart disease, congenital heart disease, arrhythmia, hypertension, heart failure and other cardiovascular diseases.The annual outpatient visits exceed 60,000, and the annual inpatient operations exceed 1,000. The cardiac catheterization laboratory is equipped with PHILIPS flat-panel angiography machines, physiological polyconductors, and aortic balloon counterpulsation pumps. It is the most advanced cardiovascular disease diagnosis and treatment equipment in the world.
