Nuclear Medicine Department

Tianjin Hospital

The Department of Nuclear Medicine of Tianjin Hospital was founded in 1975. After nearly 40 years of unremitting efforts by several generations of nuclear medicine predecessors, it has made outstanding achievements in radioimmunoassay and isotope therapy. In order to better serve patients and improve clinical diagnosis capabilities, a 24-slice diagnostic CT SPECT/CT imaging system has been introduced, which can simultaneously reflect the anatomical structure, blood flow and functional metabolism of tissues and organs, and display the physiological and pathological changes of the lesions at the molecular level. This diagnosis and treatment project can understand the functions of major organs such as the heart, kidneys, liver, gallbladder, and thyroid; it can understand the blood perfusion of myocardium, brain, lungs and other organs; it can understand and determine the presence of tumors, lymphatic metastasis, bone metastasis, and other related organ and tissue functions, blood flow, and metabolic changes. It is the science of diagnosing and treating diseases using drugs labeled with radionuclides. Doctors use high-tech means to track and detect these extremely weak signals in vitro, using numbers, images, curves, photos, etc., to early detect and judge abnormal changes in functional metabolism and cellular molecular levels in the human body, and to perform early location, qualitative and quantitative diagnosis of difficult diseases that cannot be found or are difficult to diagnose by conventional imaging examinations. The Department of Nuclear Medicine has introduced single photon emission tomography (SPECT/CT for short), which can perfectly combine functional imaging and anatomical imaging to clarify the diagnosis of primary bone tumors and multiple bone metastases, femoral head necrosis, multiple and occult fractures, fracture healing and other orthopedic system diseases. SPECT/CT imaging of the endocrine system (hyperthyroidism, hyperparathyroidism, thyroiditis), circulatory system (evaluation of coronary heart disease, myocardial ischemia and post-stent efficacy and re-ischaemia), urinary system (evaluation of renal function damage caused by various causes), etc. Radionuclide therapy for multiple bone metastases and hyperthyroidism.
