The Ophthalmology Department of our hospital currently consists of wards, outpatient clinics, and emergency departments. The ophthalmology clinic is located in the sixth clinic area of ​​the outpatient building, and the ward is located on the west side of the 17th floor of Building B. Currently, there are 1 deputy chief physician, 1 external chief physician, 4 attending physicians, 6 resident physicians, 3 supervisory nurses, and 2 nurse practitioners, including 11 medical masters. The external expert Professor He Yanjin is one of the three disciples of Professor Song Guoxiang, the father of Chinese orbital disease. He is a chief physician and a doctoral supervisor. He has rich scientific research and clinical experience in the basic and clinical research of orbital disease. Professor He led the ophthalmology department of our hospital to carry out the treatment of many major ocular trauma surgeries such as orbital fractures and orbital foreign bodies. Under Professor He’s careful guidance, the scientific research skills and diagnosis and treatment level of the Tianjin Hospital’s Ophthalmology Department have continued to improve.The Department of Ophthalmology currently has advanced medical equipment for diagnosis and treatment of inner and outer eyes, as well as a good medical team. It can treat eyelid diseases, tear duct diseases, ocular surface diseases, conjunctival diseases, corneal diseases, refractive errors, glaucoma, cataracts, ocular trauma, fundus diseases, etc. The department provides correct diagnosis and effective treatment of common diseases and frequently-occurring diseases, and can carry out surgical treatment of external and internal eyes. In particular, it has conducted innovative research in the fields of eye trauma, corneal diseases, fundus diseases, neuro-ophthalmology diseases, orbital eye plastic surgery and other fields, forming its own professional characteristics. The ophthalmic emergency department relies on the trauma emergency center of our hospital to undertake emergency work tasks for eye injuries, acute attacks of glaucoma and other ophthalmic emergencies, and at the same time provides convenient conditions for clinical consultation. It can perform general eye trauma surgeries as well as major surgeries such as eyeball rupture, orbital foreign bodies, and orbital fractures. The ophthalmology clinic has comprehensive medical equipment for diagnosis and treatment of inner and outer eyes, such as eye B-ultrasound, visual evoked potential (VEP), electroretinography (ERG), fundus fluorescein angiography (FFA), optical coherence tomography (OCT), computer visual field and other inspection equipment;Recently, a fundus laser treatment system has been introduced, which can not only perform panretinal photocoagulation (PRP) treatment, but also perform precise micropulse treatment of macular diseases, so as to preserve the important functions of the macula to the maximum extent without damaging the macular structure. It has the most advanced level at home and abroad. In addition, the introduced high-frequency surgical system has the advantages of less trauma, shorter operation time, better postoperative results, and faster recovery than traditional surgical methods. It is especially suitable for eyelid surgery and has reached a high level among Tianjin ophthalmology colleagues. The ophthalmology ward currently has 6 beds open. It not only has rich experience in diagnosis and treatment of common ophthalmic diseases and frequently-occurring diseases such as eyelids, tear ducts, ocular surface, cornea, glaucoma, fundus, neuro-ophthalmology diseases, but also has conducted innovative research in the fields of fundus internal medicine and comprehensive treatment of neuro-ophthalmology diseases, forming its own professional characteristics.As a general hospital, the ophthalmology department cooperates with endocrinology, nephrology, cardiology, neurology, obstetrics and gynecology, rheumatology and immunology, etc., to provide comprehensive management of patients throughout the entire process, and to treat ophthalmic diseases related to systemic diseases, such as diabetes. Patients with complicated eye diseases, hypertensive fundus lesions, hyperthyroidism-related eye diseases, renal fundus lesions, blood disease fundus lesions, optic neuropathy caused by internal carotid artery occlusion, pregnancy-induced hypertension fundus lesions, neuro-ophthalmic diseases, etc. have achieved satisfactory prognosis for patients.
