Obstetrics and Gynecology Department

After years of practice and accumulation, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Tianjin Hospital has developed into a clinical department integrating medical care, teaching, and scientific research. It has skilled practical skills and superb clinical medical skills in gynecology, obstetrics, and family planning. Our department has an echelon of medical professionals with excellent medical technology, good medical ethics and strong scientific research capabilities, including a team of 15 doctors: 2 chief physicians, 6 deputy chief physicians, 4 attending physicians, including 2 PhD students and 9 master's students; a nursing team of 26 people, including 11 midwives. The obstetrics and gynecology department has a 24-hour emergency department. The outpatient department is located in the sixth diagnosis area on the second floor. The inpatient ward is located on the sixth floor of the inpatient department in Building B. There are more than 40 open beds. The ward is spacious and has a comfortable environment. The gynecology department treats severe pelvic inflammatory disease, ectopic pregnancy, incisional pregnancy, adenomyosis; pelvic floor dysfunction, uterine prolapse, etc.; reproductive endocrine diseases: menopausal syndrome, polycystic ovary syndrome, abnormal uterine bleeding, hyperprolactinemia, premature ovarian failure, etc.; gynecological tumors: uterine fibroids, benign and malignant ovarian tumors, endometrial cancer, cervical cancer, etc.It has maturely carried out laparoscopic minimally invasive surgery, complex hysterectomy, giant uterine myomectomy, cervical conization and other surgeries, as well as surgical treatment of pelvic floor dysfunction diseases such as uterine prolapse and urinary incontinence. It has successfully carried out surgeries and corresponding chemotherapy for gynecological malignant tumors. It also has advanced colposcopy equipment and hysteroscopy equipment. It has superb medical skills in hysteroscopy and electroresection, and has been recognized by patients. The obstetrics department provides pregnancy care, consultation, pregnancy management, high-risk pregnancy assessment and treatment, postpartum review, and neonatal feeding consultation. It treats gestational hypertension, gestational diabetes, gestational thyroid disease, premature rupture of membranes, fetal growth retardation, and miscarriage during pregnancy. It has unique and successful experience in rescuing critical illnesses such as eclampsia, amniotic fluid embolism, placental abruption, and postpartum hemorrhage. Doulas have been launched to reduce pain during delivery, reflecting a more humane service model. Relying on the pelvic floor rehabilitation center of our hospital, we develop individualized treatment plans for pelvic floor rehabilitation of postpartum patients, which is a major feature of our hospital.In terms of family planning, we can treat early pregnancy surgical and drug termination of pregnancy, mid-trimester induction of labor, incisional pregnancy and placenta previa and other high-risk pregnancy terminations, postmenopausal IUD removal, intrauterine device migration, etc. The outpatient operating room can perform painless abortion, IUD removal, IUD insertion and other surgeries every Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning. In response to the Tianjin Municipal Health Commission’s policy of benefiting the people, free basic contraceptive surgery services are provided. Obstetrics and gynecology clinics carry out three-step screening for human papillomavirus typing and cytology of cervical lesions, colposcopy and cervical biopsy, which is beneficial to the early diagnosis and treatment of cervical precancerous lesions and cervical cancer. Recently, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology has introduced advanced colposcopy equipment to improve the detection rate of lesions.
