Limb Orthopedic Surgery Department

Tianjin Hospital

The Department of Limb and Orthopedics of Tianjin Hospital has two departments: Orthopedic Surgery Ward 1 and Orthopedic Surgery Ward 2: 1. Orthopedic Surgery Ward 1. Orthopedic Surgery Ward 1 currently has 7 doctors, including 2 chief physicians, 2 deputy chief physicians, and 3 attending physicians, including 2 doctors and 4 masters. The Orthopedic Surgery Ward No. 1 is good at applying domestic and foreign advanced theories and methods for the treatment of fractures and soft tissue injuries into clinical practice. It has rich experience in treating acute and severe open fractures and the use of external and internal fixation methods to treat open or closed injuries of the lower leg. LISS (minimally invasive stabilization system) and LCP (locking compression system) are used to treat comminuted fractures of the lower leg. The advantages of this technology are small incisions, less damage, no blood transfusion, fast healing, and good functional recovery. After clinical application, good curative effects have been obtained. The intramedullary nail is used to treat comminuted and multi-segment fractures of the lower leg. It is the gold standard for the clinical treatment of tibial fractures. The advantage is that the intramedullary nail is a central fixation, which is not only firmly fixed, but also has locking nails at both ends, which can effectively prevent the rotation, overlap and angular displacement of the fracture, and restore the alignment of the lower leg. At the same time, this method is minimally invasive, has small incisions, short operation time, little damage to the surrounding tissue of the fracture end, small postoperative incision scars, and safe closed reduction.Open fractures, infected fractures, and bone defects causing limb shortening and deformity are difficult problems in clinical treatment. The application of external fixators to treat open fractures in the first ward of the Department of Orthopedics can reduce patients’ preoperative waiting time, and the particularity of external fixators can effectively prevent postoperative infection and allow patients to return to early functional exercises. For limb shortening caused by bone defects, external fixation technology and bone transfer technology are used to restore the length of the limb while achieving fracture healing. This method has small surgical trauma, short cycle, and low cost. For patients with osteomyelitis who suffer from infected fractures or long-lasting wounds, this problem in orthopedic treatment can be successfully overcome through debridement VSD coverage, continuous irrigation and negative pressure drainage, autologous bone filling of bone defects combined with skin flap coverage technology. Special iliac autologous bone grafting promotes the growth of fractured ends without affecting the patient's quality of life; continuous flushing can promptly remove exudates, toxic products and bacteria in the medullary cavity or wound surface, supplemented by a full range of negative pressure suction VSD coverage, which isolates the wound surface from the outside world while improving local microcirculation and promoting wound healing. All the medical staff in the first ward of the Orthopedic Surgery Department will continue to learn and improve the concepts and methods of treating fractures, and serve the patients wholeheartedly with integrity and superb medical technology. 2. The Second Ward of Orthopedics The Second Ward of Traumatology Orthopedics Limb Orthopedics treats difficult cases such as non-union and malunion of old limb fractures, infected non-union, osteomyelitis, bone defects, osteonecrosis, open fractures and skin and soft tissue defects. He is particularly good at using three-dimensional space braces to minimally invasively correct various congenital and post-traumatic deformities of the limbs in children and adults, such as knee varus and valgus deformities (O-leg,He specializes in the correction of limb deformities caused by fibrous dysplasia, multiple osteochondromas, and hypophosphatemia-resistant rickets. He specializes in the treatment of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, traumatic arthritis of the ankle joint, and talar disease. He specializes in bone tumors. Repair and reconstruction of bone segment defects after resection. Specialized in pelvic support osteotomy for young people with hip dysplasia, femoral head necrosis and dislocation who are unwilling to undergo joint replacement. Specialized in treating spastic sequelae of cerebral palsy and sequelae of infantile paralysis in children and adults. The department is also good at applying minimally invasive external fixation technology to treat various fresh fractures of the limbs. It is especially experienced in performing minimally invasive external fixation surgery without incision on frail patients over 80 years old.
