It has 32 observation beds, 3 emergency rescue beds, 44 emergency ward beds, and 14 ICU beds. The discipline has established an academic team with reasonable academic echelon and strong reserve force. It currently has 34 medical staff, including 8 chief physicians, 14 deputy chief physicians, 6 doctors, 27 masters, 1 academic leader, 1 national outstanding clinical talent of traditional Chinese medicine, 1 middle- and senior-level talent in Tianjin’s first batch of western medicine, and 1 candidate for the third level of Tianjin’s innovative talent training project. It has a series of first-aid equipment that ranks among the city's advanced levels. Under the guidance of deputy director Liu Xinqiao, the subject leader, and under the leadership of department director Li Guiwei and department deputy director Liu Yi, the Emergency Department of South Hospital has established a "trinity" all-round diagnosis and treatment system with the emergency outpatient department as the window, the emergency ward as the basis, and the emergency ICU as the core. He has carried out a number of clinical scientific research and written a large number of medical papers, forming a three-integrated medical model of "integration of Chinese and Western medicine, acupuncture and medicine, and internal and external medicine". Discipline Introduction: The construction of the Emergency Department of South Hospital started early and has developed steadily. For many years, we have always regarded "the urgent needs of patients and the needs of patients" as our treatment philosophy. The discipline takes the integration of traditional Chinese and Western medicine in the treatment of clinical emergencies, critical and severe diseases as the main research idea, and strives to establish a comprehensive integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine clinical emergency, critical and severe treatment system. It is a discipline that integrates medical care, teaching and scientific research covering pre-hospital first aid, emergency treatment, and critical illness treatment.Highlight the clinical guiding ideology of traditional Chinese medicine to prevent disease before it becomes ill and prevent the disease from becoming worse, and continuously improve the effectiveness of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine in the diagnosis and treatment of critical and severe cases. The discipline adheres to extensive research in the field of TCM first aid, which effectively promotes the academic development and progress of the discipline. Create a three-in-one emergency medical model of "combination of Chinese and Western medicine, combination of acupuncture and medicine, and combination of internal and external medicine". While using advanced modern medical treatment methods, we actively apply traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture therapy to the treatment of emergency and critical illness. TCM syndrome differentiation and treatment for critically ill patients do not lose the essence of TCM, and active treatment with Western medicine is in line with evidence-based medicine. Pay attention to basic and clinical research, and strengthen basic research on clinical emergencies based on subject characteristics to provide a basis for improving clinical efficacy. Discipline construction implements the discipline leader responsibility system, implements standardized and scientific construction and management, formulates discipline construction plans, and encourages innovation and exchanges. For example, innovative management systems such as subject-based management have been implemented, operation management systems and procedures have been established and improved, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) have been established for a number of technologies to ensure the healthy development of the discipline. The discipline is responsible for critical emergency rescue and hospital-wide rescue consultation work. It has the ability to handle emergency emergencies, can skillfully use a variety of emergency operation skills, and has carried out a series of emergency rescue work integrating traditional Chinese and Western medicine. Future construction direction: This discipline has earlier put forward the academic viewpoint of the protective effect of acupuncture on the heart, brain, and gastrointestinal tract in critical illness, and has a high academic status among similar disciplines. It also features the protective effect of acupuncture on the heart and brain in critical illness, the therapeutic effect of traditional Chinese medicine on syncope syndrome, and the therapeutic effect of traditional Chinese medicine on sepsis and multiple organ dysfunction syndrome. In the future, the Emergency Department of South Hospital will continue to develop and expand research directions, explore, organize, and summarize clinical diagnosis and treatment methods of traditional Chinese medicine and integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine in the treatment of acute and critical illness, inherit the academic thoughts and clinical experience of famous traditional Chinese medicine experts, and formulate diagnosis and treatment standards. Emphasis is placed on highlighting the characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine in clinical diagnosis and treatment of acute, critical and severe cases, and actively applying traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture therapy to the treatment of acute, critical and severe cases while using advanced modern medical treatment methods. Improve the emergency treatment model with the characteristics of "three combinations", that is, "combination of Chinese and Western medicine, combination of acupuncture and medicine, and combination of internal and external medicine". TCM syndrome differentiation and treatment for critically ill patients do not lose the essence of TCM, and active treatment with Western medicine is in line with evidence-based medicine.Pay attention to basic and clinical research, and strengthen basic research on clinical emergencies based on subject characteristics to provide a basis for improving clinical efficacy. Basic research now focuses on both acupuncture and medicine, using multiple mechanisms to improve curative effect, and further systematically explores, summarizes, promotes, and applies acupuncture, traditional Chinese medicine, and other characteristic traditional Chinese medicine emergency diagnosis and treatment technologies to improve the level of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of acute and critical illnesses. 2.
