The Functional Examination Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Tianjin University of Chinese Medicine is a comprehensive department integrating medical treatment, teaching and scientific research. Since the establishment of the functional examination department of the hospital, with the development of the hospital and the update of medical equipment technology, the functional examination department has also grown and developed. Now the department consists of a color ultrasound room, an electrocardiogram room, a neuroelectromyography room, and a transcranial Doppler room. All professional disciplines are showing a booming development trend. The department has a complete technical echelon composed of old, middle-aged and young doctors as the main body. The functional examination department currently has 39 medical staff, including 3 chief physicians, 3 deputy directors, and 9 with postgraduate degrees. The department is equipped with fully digital color ultrasound diagnostic equipment, electrocardiograph, transcranial Doppler diagnostic equipment, electromyography, electroencephalograph and other equipment. The color ultrasound room carries out a variety of whole-body ultrasound examinations for congenital heart disease, rheumatic heart disease, coronary heart disease, carotid arteries and limb blood vessels, abdomen, urology, gynecology, obstetrics, thyroid, breast, superficial organs, muscles and bones, as well as new technologies such as contrast-enhanced ultrasound, interventional ultrasound, and elastography.
