The First Affiliated Hospital of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine

The Department of Andrology, the First Affiliated Hospital of Tianjin University of Chinese Medicine, was founded in 1989. It is the earliest andrology diagnosis and treatment center established in a public hospital in Tianjin. After nearly 30 years of efforts and development over several generations, it has formed an andrology diagnosis and treatment center with a complete talent echelon, superb Chinese and Western medicine skills, standardized clinical diagnosis and treatment, integrating medical treatment, scientific research, and teaching, and paying equal attention to Chinese and Western medicine. The annual outpatient volume exceeds 50,000, ranking among the top men's departments in public hospitals in the northern region. The department has modern specialized diagnosis and treatment equipment such as a prostate treatment instrument, a fully automatic sperm analysis system, a seminal plasma biochemical detector, a penile nerve threshold measuring instrument, and an American penile hardness measuring instrument (Rigiscan). It is the first in China to promote drug treatment-physical therapy. - Combined with psychological treatment, the diagnosis and treatment model of "sex and reproduction treatment" and "brain-heart-kidney treatment" is implemented. The use of special prescriptions and therapies such as modified Tianxiong powder, Yuling No. 1, Tiaoshen acupuncture, and traditional Chinese medicine enema to treat male diseases has been approved by national, provincial and municipal scientific research projects. Members of the department serve in many national andrology societies across the country, and have participated in the compilation of many andrology planning textbooks, relevant guidelines and consensus issued by the Andrology Branch of the Chinese Medical Association and the Andrology Branch of the Chinese Society of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, and compiled more than 30 andrology monographs. The main diagnosis and treatment scope includes acute and chronic prostatitis, prostatic hyperplasia, oligozoospermia, asthenozoospermia, azoospermia, erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, anejaculation, acute and chronic orchitis, epididymitis, seminal vesiculitis, reproductive tract infection, male menopausal syndrome, male sexually transmitted diseases, male sexual psychological disorders, etc.
