The Hematology Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Tianjin University of Chinese Medicine was established in 1972. Tao Jianxiu, a famous expert in traditional Chinese medicine in Tianjin, was the head. Through the unremitting efforts of Dai Ximeng, Yang Xueshuang, Yang Wenhua, Shi Zhexin and other experts, the Department of Hematology has developed into the largest traditional Chinese medicine, traditional Chinese and Western medicine hospital in Tianjin. It combines special specialties in the treatment of blood diseases, key disciplines and key specialties of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, key specialties of the Tianjin Municipal Health Bureau, national and Tianjin key specialty construction units with advantages of traditional Chinese medicine, Chinese Medical Association ITP standardized diagnosis and treatment center, and national CINV standardized management demonstration ward. There are 85 open beds, including 5 laminar flow wards and 4 laminar flow purification hoods. It has famous traditional Chinese medicine inheritance studios in Tianjin (Yang Wenhua inheritance studio, Shi Zhexin inheritance studio), 3 chief physicians, 7 deputy chief physicians, 2 doctoral supervisors, 6 master's supervisors, and the seventh batch of national veteran practitioners. He has accumulated rich experience in the treatment of diseases, and has created special therapies such as "Tonifying the kidneys, reducing phlegm and activating blood circulation to treat aplastic anemia", "Integrating traditional Chinese and Western medicine unit therapy to treat acute leukemia", "Replenishing qi, nourishing yin and detoxifying to remove tiny residues and reverse leukemia drug resistance". It has obtained more than 40 scientific research projects at all levels including the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has published hundreds of academic papers, edited 2 national-level textbooks and 3 monographs, is deputy editor-in-chief of 1 textbook, and has participated in the compilation of more than 10 textbooks and monographs. His academic radiating units have been in North China, Northeast China, East China, and Central China, and provide traditional Chinese and Western medicine hematology diagnosis and treatment services to patients around the world.
