Respiratory
The First Affiliated Hospital of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine
The Respiratory Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Tianjin University of Chinese Medicine was founded in 1979. Through the efforts of several generations including Chen Fangzhou, Niu Yuanqi, Zhang Xipeng and current department director Liu Guiying, the Respiratory Department has experienced a development process from scratch, from weak to strong. The functions of the department have gradually been improved, and the talent echelon has gradually been rationalized. It is an advanced teaching collective and an honest department. The respiratory department currently has 5 clinics, including a smoking cessation clinic and a specialized disease clinic, with an average monthly outpatient volume of more than 4,000. The main diseases diagnosed and treated include respiratory infections, bronchial asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, interstitial pulmonary disease, cor pulmonale, chronic respiratory failure, lung tumors and other respiratory diseases. It has 34 open beds, treats an average of more than 80 patients per month, and has a bed utilization rate of over 95%. It also has large modern medical equipment such as pulmonary function meters, bronchoscopes, ventilators, and sleep breathing monitors. It has 18 members, including 3 chief physicians, 3 deputy chief physicians, 1 doctorate, 14 masters, 1 famous Chinese medicine practitioner in Tianjin, and 1 mentor. Through discipline construction, scientific research management and academic activities, a group of academic leaders and academic backbones have been created, and a dynamic and creative medical teaching and research group has been formed. Research directions:(1) Clinical and mechanism research on the treatment of asthma with traditional Chinese medicine: including clinical and mechanism research on the treatment of asthma with the method of dispersing wind and unblocking collaterals, and research on the prevention and disease control of asthma with Sanfu patch; (2) Clinical and mechanism research on the treatment of pulmonary vascular reconstruction with traditional Chinese medicine. Talent training: train 20 masters, teach more than 600 undergraduates, teach more than 160 residents in standardized training, and also teach foreign trainees. History of Discipline Development: The Respiratory Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Tianjin University of Chinese Medicine was founded in 1979. At the beginning, under the leadership of Chen Fangzhou, a famous doctor in Tianjin, the tracheitis group was established and became a member of the internal medicine clinic. In the 1980s, Director Niu Yuanqi presided over the establishment of a fever specialist clinic and began to conduct research on the treatment of acute fever and syncope syndrome with traditional Chinese medicine. In 1990, when the hospital moved to a new location on Anshan West Road, the Department of Pulmonary Medicine was established, with Director Zhang Xipeng as the department director. It was the predecessor of the Department of Respiratory Medicine and officially started its comprehensive development. By 2002, under the leadership of Director Liu Guiying, the Department of Respiratory Medicine was officially established and gradually developed its own development characteristics. The first generation of experts is represented by Chen Fangzhou, a famous doctor in Tianjin.Director Chen studied Chinese medicine since he was a child, and came to Tianjin with his family at the age of 25. In the 1850s, he was employed by the Tianjin Infectious Disease Hospital and developed a set of clinically effective methods for the prevention and treatment of diphtheria, measles, smallpox and other infectious diseases. He then put forward the famous conclusion in the treatment of diphtheria with traditional Chinese medicine that "the Yangyin Qingfei method is effective, but the Yangyin Qingfei decoction is not", making a contribution to the Chinese medicine in the treatment of diphtheria. Academically, he put forward his own understanding and opinions, emphasized the important pathogenic role of dampness in respiratory diseases, differentiated syndrome differentiation and treatment at different pathogenic stages of dryness - fluid damage - yin damage, highlighted the "aromatherapy and turbidity" therapy, and made great contributions to the revitalization and development of the medical cause of the motherland. Represented by second-generation experts Niu Yuanqi and Zhang Xipeng, the hospital formally established the Department of Pulmonary Medicine in 1990, with Zhang Xipeng as director. Director Zhang studied under Dong Xiaochu, a famous doctor in Jinmen, and has made some progress. The syndrome differentiation is delicate and accurate, and the medication is light and fair. Even in times of crisis and severe illness, the prescriptions remain the same, showing magic in the ordinary. The treatment method is flexible and diverse, and it can be used internally or externally. Taking the initiative to achieve quick results, it has achieved good curative effects. In the 1980s, Professor Niu Yuanqi and Director Niu Yuanqi presided over the establishment of a fever specialist clinic and began to carry out research on the treatment of acute fever, syncope syndrome and other emergencies with traditional Chinese medicine. The independent development of a variety of Chinese patent medicines and intravenous preparations of Chinese medicines to treat acute febrile diseases has promoted the development of respiratory fever and accumulated valuable experience for the future treatment of critically ill patients in the respiratory department. The third generation of experts is represented by Liu Guiying, the current department director. Liu Guiying, a chief physician, has been engaged in clinical work in the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine for more than 20 years. In 1997, he was appointed as the director of the Department of Pulmonary Medicine. In 2002, the Department of Respiratory Medicine was formally established and he served as the director of the department, presiding over the work of the Department of Respiratory Medicine. He currently serves as a master's tutor, a member of the Respiratory Disease Professional Committee of the Chinese Association of Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, and a deputy director of the Respiratory Disease Professional Committee of the Tianjin Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of difficult diseases of the respiratory system. He proposes the idea of treating chronic obstructive pulmonary disease with combined treatment of blood stasis and toxins. He adopts a staged and stratified treatment plan, paying special attention to the treatment in the remission period. He adopts the method of treating both the symptoms and root causes, internal and external treatment, and uses the method of removing blood stasis and detoxification combined with the method of tonifying deficiency and cultivating energy as the main treatment method. In conjunction with external treatment, he has achieved good results. According to the pathogenesis of bronchial asthma, it is proposed that phlegm and blood stasis block the collaterals. He is good at using insect-based traditional Chinese medicine, which has the effect of removing blood stasis, reducing phlegm and relieving asthma. It is proposed that poisonous evil plays a key role in the pathogenesis of pulmonary fibrosis, and treatments based on detoxification, blood circulation and qi replenishment have achieved certain effects.Based on the efforts of its predecessors, the Respiratory Department has accumulated rich experience in the treatment and research of respiratory airflow obstruction diseases, respiratory infections/infectious diseases, interstitial lung diseases and other diseases, and has achieved phased achievements. These research directions are closely integrated with clinical practice and guide clinical practice, showing a sustained and stable development trend. At the forefront of domestic peers. Through discipline construction, the level of syndrome differentiation and treatment of asthma, COPD, interstitial pulmonary disease, respiratory infection/infectious disease, lung cancer and other diseases has been greatly improved. There have been innovations in theoretical understanding, diagnosis and treatment levels have been improved, and a number of domestically advanced research results have been produced. The etiology and pathogenesis have been discussed from the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine, and diagnosis and treatment standards have been formed. 5 types of special therapies have been formed and 7 types of new drugs have been developed.
