Clinical Laboratory Department

The Second Hospital of Tianjin Medical University

The Laboratory Department of the Second Hospital of Tianjin Medical University has two examination areas, namely inpatient examination and outpatient and emergency examination, with reasonable layout and complete facilities. There are currently 44 medical technicians, including 2 chief technicians, 8 deputy chief technicians, 1 technician with a doctorate degree, and 19 technicians with a master's degree. The department has five professional groups: outpatient and emergency testing, clinical routine testing, biochemical testing, immune testing and microbiological testing. There are currently more than 40 large-scale testing equipment, more than 200 testing projects have been carried out, which can fully meet the diagnosis and treatment of clinical patients, and more than 1 million specimens are completed annually. By establishing a comprehensive quality management system, standardizing technical operation procedures, and actively participating in the inter-laboratory quality evaluation of the National Health Commission Clinical Inspection Center and Tianjin Clinical Inspection Center, we ensure the accuracy and authenticity of the inspection results. The main projects currently carried out by the department include: ① Routine clinical testing: Coagulation function testing (PT, APTT, Fg, TT, FDP, AT3, D dimer). Blood routine, white blood cell microscopy classification, urine routine, urine red blood cell phase contrast microscopy, stool routine, platelet aggregation test, dynamic detection of erythrocyte sedimentation rate. ②Clinical biochemical testing: Routine serum biochemical testing: electrolytes, liver function, kidney function, blood sugar, and blood lipid testing.Other indicator tests include serum cystatin C (Cys-c), homocysteine (Hcy), pepsinogen I/II, α1 antitrypsin (α1-AT), haptoglobin (Hp), etc. Glycated hemoglobin detection, thoracic and ascites fluid, cerebrospinal fluid, and other body fluid detection (total protein, albumin, chloride, sugar, lactate dehydrogenase, ADA); 24-hour urine protein detection, urine ACR (urinary microalbumin/urinary creatinine) detection, urine metabolite detection (potassium, sodium, chloride, calcium, phosphorus, urea nitrogen, creatinine, uric acid), urine 17-hydroxy, 17-keto, VMA and cortisol detection. Myocardial marker detection (cardiac troponin I (cTnI), NT-proBNP), arterial blood gas analysis. ③Clinical immunology: Hepatitis markers (antibodies to hepatitis A, B, C, and E), Treponema pallidum antibodies, HIV antibodies; immune globulin, complement C3C4, rheumatoid factor, C-reactive protein, anti-chain "O", light chain protein and other specific protein detection; antinuclear antibody spectrum, ANCA spectrum, anti-phospholipid antibody spectrum, autoimmune liver disease spectrum, anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide antibody, anti-GBM antibody and other autoantibodies.Spectrum of respiratory pathogens, tuberculosis antibodies, 25-hydroxyvitamin D, urine NGAL, blood LP-PLA2, hepatitis B virus DNA, etc. ④Clinical microbiology: Bacterial and fungal culture identification and drug sensitivity testing of various specimens (such as blood, sputum, urine, thoracic and ascites fluid, etc.), fungal (1,3)-β-D-glucan and bacterial lipopolysaccharide detection, cytomegalovirus nucleic acid detection, procalcitonin and epidemic hemorrhagic fever detection, acid-fast staining and rapid mycobacterial culture, tuberculosis infection T cell detection (T-SPOT.TB) and other infectious disease-related projects.
