Pain Department

The Pain Department of the Second Hospital of Tianjin Medical University has 22 beds. It is the first community pain physician training base in the country and an affiliated unit of the Tianjin Community Pain Management Quality Control Center. There are currently 23 medical staff, including 2 chief physicians, 3 deputy chief physicians, 2 doctors with doctoral degrees, and 8 doctors with master's degrees. He has extensive clinical experience in minimally invasive interventional treatment of spinal pain and chronic refractory neuralgia. The department’s featured technologies include ozone, radiofrequency, plasma, nerve root release, soft tissue trigger points, collagenase nucleation, infrared thermal imaging detection, shock wave, transforaminal endoscope, intrathecal morphine pump, spinal cord electrical stimulation, trigeminal nerve balloon compression and other minimally invasive interventional technologies. It accepts more than 20 training doctors from all over the country every year and has great influence among its peers across the country. In 2013, it won the first place in Tianjin's pain specialty in the national key clinical specialty review. He has won more than 10 scientific and technological achievements in Tianjin, 2 third-class Tianjin Science and Technology Progress Awards, 1 second-class Science and Technology Progress Award of Tianjin Medical University, and 7 new technology filling gaps projects of the National Health and Family Planning Commission.
