Clinical Psychology Department

The Department of Clinical Psychology of the Second Hospital of Tianjin Medical University was established in December 2018 based on the Department of Mental Health and Psychology of Tianjin Medical University. It is headed by Professor Mao Fuqiang, deputy director Liu Chengdong, deputy chief physician, and members Li Jianwei, attending physician, Li Shen, attending physician and Li Jing, resident physician. It is a doctoral program in mental health and psychiatry and a master's program in applied psychology. It leverages the comprehensive advantages of teaching, scientific research and disciplines to provide patients with high-level clinical psychological diagnosis and treatment services in the comprehensive medical model. 1. Closely integrate teaching and scientific research to improve the level of clinical psychological diagnosis and treatment. Undertakes the teaching tasks of "Psychiatry" at Tianjin Medical University and Nankai University School of Medicine, offers courses "Mental Hygiene", "Stress and Health" and "Psychological Crisis Intervention and Prevention" for undergraduates, and offers courses "Basics and Experience of Vipassana Therapy" for graduate students. Professor Mao Fuqiang is the editor-in-chief of the medical audio-visual textbook "Common Mental Disorder Symptoms" of the Ministry of Health, and the second editor-in-chief of the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" general higher education undergraduate national planning textbook "Psychiatry" (4th edition). In 2018, he was appointed as a member of the Psychiatric Medicine Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education. 2. Collaborate with mental health education and strengthen psychological counseling and psychotherapy.Professor Mao Fuqiang is currently the director of the Mental Health Education Center of Tianjin Medical University, and Dr. Li Jianwei is currently the director of the Psychological Counseling Center of Tianjin Medical University. The members of the department all have rich experience in psychological counseling and psychotherapy. The school's mental health education center has been awarded the title of National Excellent Institution for Mental Health Education of College Students, and Professor Mao Fuqiang has been awarded the title of National Excellent Worker of Mental Health Education of College Students. 3. Use authoritative psychological assessment systems to scientifically assist clinical psychological diagnosis. Purchased the V9.0 hospital version of the psychological assessment file management system to provide patients with authoritative psychological assessment results. The system covers 18 types of assessments and 91 scales. The reliability and effectiveness of each scale have been demonstrated by cooperating experts to ensure that the assessment results are highly accurate and provide scientific basis for further psychological diagnosis and treatment work. 4. Create a clinical psychological diagnosis and treatment brand featuring Eastern psychotherapy. Tianjin Medical University has hosted the first and ninth China Morita Therapy Academic Conference and the third China Vipassana Therapy Academic Conference. Professor Mao Fuqiang is currently the deputy director of the Morita Therapy Application Special Committee of the Chinese Mental Health Association, a member of the Psychotherapy and Psychological Counseling Special Committee, and the leader of the Vipassana Therapy Group. The Vipassana Cognitive Therapy perfected by Professor Mao Fuqiang has been promoted and applied in more than ten provinces and cities across the country.Featured technologies: 1. Psychological assessment: Use the newly purchased psychological assessment file management system (V9.0 hospital version) to carry out professional assessments from the aspects of mental health, personality characteristics, cognitive status, intellectual reasoning ability, etc., establish the psychological files of the subjects, and realize the evaluation, screening and analysis of the psychological characteristics of the subjects. 2. Psychotherapy: For different mental disorders or psychological problems, different treatment methods are used to conduct systematic psychological consultation and psychotherapy, including individual psychotherapy or consultation and group psychotherapy or consultation. Morita Therapy is a psychological therapy proposed by Masuma Morita of Japan in 1920. After years of development, Morita therapy has become one of the common methods for treating neurosis. The China Morita Therapy Academic Conference has been successfully held for twelve times so far, of which the first (1992) and the ninth (2012) conferences were hosted by Tianjin Medical University. Professor Mao Fuqiang is currently the deputy director of the Morita Therapy Application Professional Committee of the Chinese Mental Health Association. Naikantherapy is a psychological therapy established by Japan's Yoshimoto Ishin in 1953. After years of development, Vipassana therapy has become one of the common methods for treating various mental disorders.The Chinese Vipassana Therapy Academic Conference has been successfully held for seven times. The third one (2011) was hosted by Tianjin Medical University. Our school was rated as one of the first batch of training bases for Vipassana Therapy in China. Professor Mao Fuqiang is currently the leader of the Vipassana Therapy Group of the Psychotherapy and Psychological Counseling Professional Committee of the Chinese Mental Health Association. The monograph "Research on Vipassana Cognitive Therapy" and "Home Vipassana Operation Manual" edited by Professor Mao Fuqiang are published by Peking University Medical Press. 3.
