Radiotherapy

The Radiation Therapy Department of the Second Hospital of Tianjin Medical University currently has 11 medical and technical staff, including 1 chief physician, 1 deputy chief physician, 3 doctors with doctoral degrees, and 5 doctors with master's degrees. There is currently an Elekta precise accelerator and a Swedish Elekta Monte Carlo direct/reverse intensity modulated radiotherapy planning system (Monaco5.11) CT simulation positioning machine. It is responsible for the radiotherapy of all cancer patients in the hospital, and has carried out hyperfractionated radiotherapy for small cell lung cancer. It is a national leader in radical radiotherapy for prostate cancer, postoperative adjuvant radiotherapy and radiotherapy combined with immunotherapy for bladder cancer. A standardized diagnosis and treatment center for stage III lung cancer has been established to provide full standardized management of stage III lung cancer patients. The department has outstanding scientific research and innovation capabilities. It has presided over a number of National Natural Science Foundation and college-level projects and published many SCI papers.
