Ophthalmology Department

The Department of Ophthalmology of the Second Hospital of Tianjin Medical University has 10 beds. It is the first "Bright Center" in Tianjin and a vision health management center for primary and secondary schools in Hexi District, Tianjin. There are currently 31 medical staff, including 1 chief physician, 3 deputy chief physicians, 4 doctors with doctoral degrees, and 11 doctors with master's degrees. Relying on the Tianjin Orbital Disease Research Institute, we carry out drug and surgical treatments for various complex orbital diseases. In recent years, we have carried out various types of complex cataract phacoemulsification, various types of minimally invasive surgeries and laser treatments for glaucoma, and minimally invasive vitrectomy to treat various vitreoretinal diseases, including diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment, eye trauma, intraocular foreign bodies, epiretinal membrane and macular holes, etc.; laser and intraocular injection of drugs to treat various fundus diseases including age-related macular degeneration, various types of macular edema, etc.
