Family Planning Department

The Family Planning Department of the Second Hospital of Tianjin Medical University was established in 1991. It is the only independent professional department of family planning among Tianjin's tertiary-level general hospitals. It is a national high-quality post-abortion service hospital and a national long-acting contraceptive demonstration base. In 2002, it was approved for assisted reproductive sperm artificial insemination technology qualifications. In 2023, it was officially established as an assisted reproductive center. It was approved to carry out in vitro fertilization, embryo transfer and its derivative technologies (first and second generation test tube babies).

There are currently 29 medical and nursing technicians, including 2 chief physicians, 3 deputy chief physicians, 2 deputy chief nurses, 1 chief technician, and 3 master's degree tutors.

He has presided over more than ten scientific research projects at all levels including the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Tianjin Municipal Science and Technology Commission, and has obtained a number of municipal scientific and technological achievements.

Relying on the Department of Urology, a national key discipline - the Department of Male Reproduction and Sexual Medicine (MRSM), the featured reproductive center of our hospital carries out projects related to male and female infertility, miscarriage treatment, eugenic genetic counseling and other projects.

The department is equipped with 10 ward beds, which can treat high-risk patients undergoing family planning surgery and recurrent miscarriage.
