Nephrology Department

The Department of Nephrology of the Second Hospital of Tianjin Medical University has 44 beds and is the clinical pharmacology base of the Ministry of Health. There are currently 35 medical staff, including 2 chief physicians, 5 deputy chief physicians, 1 master's degree supervisor, 2 doctors with doctoral degrees, and 10 doctors with master's degrees. It is the first to carry out renal puncture gun biopsy and peritoneal dialysis catheter insertion in Tianjin. It is able to complete renal pathology film reading and diagnostic reports. It completes nearly 600 cases of renal biopsy pathology diagnosis annually. It has established a pathological tissue bank and regularly holds renal clinical pathology seminars. It has completed more than 100 cases of peritoneal dialysis catheterization each year. It has long-term follow-up of nearly 300 peritoneal dialysis patients in the outpatient department, and also carries out PLA2R testing. Currently, more than 1,400 patients are discharged annually, and the annual outpatient visits exceed 40,000.
