Medical Imaging Department

Tianjin Children's Hospital

The Medical Imaging Department of Tianjin Children's Hospital focuses on the simultaneous advancement of clinical, scientific research, teaching and standardized management. It insists on continuing education and talent echelon building all year round, and has a unique and mature talent echelon of children's medical imaging diagnosis technology.

The department currently has 2 chief physicians and 8 deputy chief physicians.

The department implements standardized medical imaging quality management and control throughout the entire process, and establishes a standardized management model for the imaging department of Children's Hospital.

The department is equipped with imaging examination equipment, 8 digital radiography systems (DR), 5 mobile DRs, 2 dental X-ray machines, 1 bone density meter DXA, and 4 gastrointestinal machines.

GErevolution256 row CT2, Philips256 iCT1, Neusoft NeuViz16ClassicCT1, SiemensForceCT1, GESignaHDxt1.5TMR1, SiemensAvanto1.5TMR1, PhilipsIngenia1.5TMR, SiemensSkyra3.0TMR1.

In terms of examination technology, the Medical Imaging Department of Children's Hospital has almost all examination content for adults, covering medical and surgical diseases that may occur in childhood.

① The imaging diagnosis of children's congenital malformations, developmental diseases, systemic diseases, infectious diseases, and tumor diseases has obvious technical advantages, especially in the imaging diagnosis of children's autism, children's enuresis, children's congenital heart disease, cardiomyopathy, and hemangiomas.

② Children's digital gastrointestinal examination technology is of great value in the diagnosis of congenital diaphragmatic hernia, intestinal malrotation, and Hirschsprung disease in children.

X-ray air enema reduction technology is still an important method for the diagnosis and treatment of intussusception.

Plain X-rays are still the preferred examination method for diagnosing bone and joint diseases in children.

③ It has advantages in imaging diagnosis and research of neonatal-related diseases, including neonatal hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy, diagnosis and hemodynamic assessment of neonatal cardiac macrovascular malformations, neonatal respiratory distress syndrome, neonatal necrotizing enterocolitis, and early diagnosis of meconium peritonitis, etc.

④ The application of pediatric imaging interventional technology is also increasing. Various punctures, drainage and interventional treatments have been routinely carried out in children, such as CT-guided puncture biopsy of organs, lymph nodes and tumors, CT-guided drug injection treatment of vascular malformations, imaging interventional treatment of children's hemangioma, interventional treatment of tumors in various parts, ophthalmic artery infusion chemotherapy for retinoblastoma, etc.

⑤ Gradually establish low-dose scanning plans for X-ray and CT examinations of children of different ages to reduce the radiation absorbed dose of patients.

⑥Children's general radiography, CT, MR and interventional imaging examination technologies are used not only for monitoring children's growth and development, but also for disease diagnosis and efficacy evaluation. At the same time, they are combined with children's interventional treatment. The department has formed an imaging diagnosis and treatment system that combines a variety of imaging examination methods, which can fully meet clinical, teaching and scientific research needs.

PACS and RIS systems covering the entire hospital have been built to realize the informatization and digitalization process of images, and to realize the self-service issuance of diagnostic reports and imaging films.

As our department's imaging equipment becomes increasingly perfect and imaging technology continues to improve, the number of examination services provided to patients every year increases year by year. The discipline focuses on solving clinical needs, attaches great importance to multi-disciplinary cooperation and exchanges, and adheres to clinical academic exchanges and case discussions guided by scientific research.
