The Ultrasound Department (ultrasound examination project) of Tianjin Children's Hospital was founded in 1984 and is the first children's specialty hospital in the country to carry out ultrasonic examination.
When the department was first established, it was named "B-ultrasound room" (which remains today). At that time, there was only one black-and-white ultrasound machine, which was limited to simple screening of solid organs such as liver, gallbladder, spleen, and kidneys.
After the hard work of several generations of ultrasound professionals, the hospital has gradually expanded in scale and expanded to a dual campus operating 24 hours a day. It is responsible for all outpatient, emergency and inpatient ultrasound examinations except cardiac, with a daily workload of more than 1,000 people.
In the nearly 40 years of development of the Ultrasound Department, as the number of patients continues to increase, its business areas have become wider and more sophisticated.
Many diagnostic technologies have reached the leading level in the country. Currently, ultrasound has become the first choice examination for the following types of diseases: intussusception, appendicitis, intestinal obstruction, abdominal trauma, foreign bodies in the cavity, solid tumors, various congenital malformations, torsion of organs, biliary atresia in infants and young children, acute scrotal syndrome, neonatal craniocerebral injury, necrotizing enterocolitis, intestinal damage caused by Kawasaki disease, etc.
In 2022, the B-ultrasound room launched a new technology of interventional ultrasound for children, which can complete puncture biopsy, catheter drainage, fluid extraction and drug injection, sclerotherapy, etc. of various tissues, organs or tumors under ultrasound guidance. It provides strong support for the early diagnosis and treatment of many diseases in a "minimally invasive" way, and has been highly praised by clinicians and families of children.
Adhering to tradition, all newcomers in the B-ultrasound room are taught by themselves, and key members are sent out every year for exchanges and learning.
Undertakes the municipal continuing medical education project for ultrasonic diagnosis of childhood diseases, and is responsible for the further training and teaching of pediatric ultrasound in Tianjin.
Every year, he participates in national, provincial and municipal ultrasonic medical academic activities and hosts and lectures many times.
Members of the undergraduate department work part-time in a number of social organizations: Member of the Ultrasound Group of the Pediatric Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, Vice Chairman of the Pediatric Ultrasound Committee of the Chinese Society of Ultrasound Medical Engineering, Youth Committee of the Pediatric Ultrasound Committee of the Chinese Society of Ultrasound Medical Engineering, Member of the Ultrasound Committee of the Tianjin Medical Association, Member of the Tianjin Ultrasound Quality Control Center, Tianjin Ultrasound Medical Engineering Executive director of the association, deputy director of the Tianjin Association of Ultrasound Physicians, deputy director of the Ultrasound Branch of the Tianjin Society of Medical Imaging Technology, member of the Children's Special Committee of the Tianjin Anti-Cancer Association, youth committee of the Ultrasound Committee of the China Association of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, member and youth committee of the Tianjin Ultrasound Committee of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, etc.
