Nutrition Department

Tianjin Children's Hospital

The Nutrition Department of Tianjin Children's Hospital was established in August 1951 (originally known as the Nutrition Office, and renamed the Nutrition Department in 1987).

With medical care as the main body, teaching as the foundation, and scientific research as the forefront, the department has gradually formed a relatively complete clinical nutrition system.

The department is divided into two campuses: Machang and Longyan, with a total area of about 2000m 2 .

There are currently 18 nutrition professionals, including 1 department director, 1 deputy chief nutritionist, 4 attending nutrition physicians, 5 nutrition physicians, and 7 nutrition technicians.

Both campuses of the Department of Nutrition have medical areas (nutrition clinics) and nutritional treatment preparation areas (including medical diet preparation rooms and enteral nutrition preparation rooms).

The department is responsible for nutritional consultation, nutritional assessment, nutritional diagnosis, nutritional treatment, nutritional meal preparation, and nutritional treatment and guidance for outpatients in the two campuses.

The department uses professional nutrition software to conduct nutritional evaluation, formulate personalized daily or weekly recipes, and conduct systematic nutritional treatment;

Use measurement tools such as sebum thickness meters and hand grippers for recent nutritional assessment;

Use educational tools such as salt-control spoons, oil-control pots, and quantitative food models to teach therapeutic meals, providing patients with comprehensive, standardized nutritional support and precise nutritional management.

Actively cooperating with clinical clinics, a standardized nutrition management system of "physicians-nurses-nutritionists" has been established to provide patients with high-quality services.
