Rehabilitation Department
Tianjin Children's Hospital
The Rehabilitation Department of Tianjin Children's Hospital was founded in 1998. It is one of the largest children's rehabilitation medical centers in North China. It is now the Tianjin Children's Rehabilitation Guidance and Training Base, the Tianjin Disabled Persons' Federation's Physical Disability Rehabilitation Standardized Training Base, the Tianjin Rehabilitation Medicine Association Children's Rehabilitation Special Committee Chairman Unit, the Tianjin Rehabilitation Medicine Resident Standardized Training Collaborative Base, Tianjin's early designated rehabilitation institution for children with physical and intellectual disabilities aged 0-6, and the Tianjin Human Resources and Social Security Bureau designated cerebral palsy special pilot unit.
Patients radiate to North China and all over the country.
The Rehabilitation Department consists of rehabilitation clinics and wards. The rehabilitation ward has 34 beds, and the outpatient clinic receives more than 200 children every day.
After years of hard work, in recent years, a high-level rehabilitation team with rich clinical experience has been gradually established, consisting of rehabilitation physicians, rehabilitation technicians, and rehabilitation nurses. It has formed sub-professional directions including screening and early management of high-risk children, comprehensive management of cerebral palsy, rehabilitation management of neurodevelopmental disorders, rare disease rehabilitation management, severe rehabilitation, swallowing and speech rehabilitation, etc., and has established a relatively complete children's rehabilitation assessment and treatment system.
In addition to carrying out exercise therapy (PT), occupational therapy (OT), speech therapy (ST), various physical factor treatments, and traditional medical treatments (acupuncture, massage), we also carry out special rehabilitation diagnosis and treatment projects: carry out whole body movement quality assessment (GMs), neonatal neurobehavioral assessment (NBNA) and other assessment technologies, and conduct early functional assessment and rehabilitation management for children at high risk of brain injury;
Develop ultrasound-guided botulinum toxin type A injection technology to accurately treat limb spasticity and localized dystonia in children;
Develop repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) technology for the treatment of spinal cord injury, peripheral nerve injury, global developmental delay, autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), language development disorder, tics, cortical blindness, neurogenic bladder, etc.;
In terms of rehabilitation of children with severe illness, we carry out assessment and treatment of swallowing disorders, comprehensive wake-up treatment for disorders of consciousness, breathing training, urination management, etc.;
Provide comprehensive rehabilitation management for rare diseases such as spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), progressive muscular dystrophy, Rett syndrome, Angelman syndrome, etc.;

Carry out medical hyperbaric oxygen therapy for children to treat acute nervous system injuries such as acute carbon monoxide poisoning and hypoxic encephalopathy.
