Drug information is required to be supported by scientific research and literature research evidence, and the quality of the hospital and externally processed preparations is regularly inspected to provide clinical and patients with assured drugs.

As a permanent institution of the hospital's Pharmacy Committee, the Pharmacy Department handles various problems encountered in the use and management of drugs in a scientific and rigorous manner, and gradually improves relevant systems.

Department features:

(1) Management of narcotic drugs and psychotropic drugs

Since the WHO's three-step cancer analgesia principle was introduced into my country, after long-term practice and exploration, a complete set of management methods for narcotic drugs and psychotropic drugs has become a unique and widely promoted advanced model in Tianjin.

On the premise of relieving patients from pain problems, standardized management of narcotic drugs is achieved.

(2) Automation of drug dispensing

With the introduction of advanced equipment such as automatic medication dispensing machines, automatic medication dispensing machines, intelligent management cabinets for narcotic drugs and valuable drugs, traditional Chinese medicine granulators, and intelligent medication dispensing and sorting systems (PDA), the automation of drug dispensing has been realized.

While comprehensively improving work efficiency, medication safety is ensured.

In addition, the herbal medicine dispensary also launched the mailing service of SF Express granules to facilitate out-of-town patients to obtain medicines and save waiting time.

(3) Internet pharmaceutical services

The opening of the Internet hospital allows patients to enjoy the service of online drug purchase and home delivery.

The pharmacy service platform of Tianjin Cancer Hospital was officially launched on January 27, 2021. It covers medication scanning, medication consultation, medication testing, medication reminders, medication records, adverse reaction reporting, pharmaceutical science articles and many other contents, providing guarantee for patient safety and rational medication use.

(4) Centralized allocation of intravenous fluids

The intravenous liquid dispensing center is responsible for the dispensing of anti-tumor drugs and parenteral nutrition (TPN) in the hospital. It has the characteristics of small and precise layout and smooth operation order.

The dispensing process of "four-on-one reminders after first review" of drugs ensures the quality of drug dispensing.

The daytime intravenous drug dispensing center on the 8th floor of the outpatient clinic is the first in the city. Through the optimization of the process, it has reduced the turnover of patients and improved the service level.

(5) Outpatient drug consultation

In 2020, the Drug Consultation Center set up an independent clinic on the 6th floor of the outpatient clinic and equipped it with corresponding diagnostic equipment.

Patients can register through online appointments and on-site operations.

The consultation content mainly focuses on anti-tumor drugs, radiation pain drugs, anti-infective drugs, nutritional drugs, pediatric-related therapeutic drugs, anticoagulant drugs, etc.

(6) Organize and provide drug information

Pharmacists participate in the collection and organization of clinical data such as clinical ward rounds, medical record review, and summary of clinical medication experience, and summarize and analyze the organized content, and then feedback the analysis results to the clinic to provide a reference for the rational use of clinical drugs.

Assist the hospital pharmaceutical committee in the preliminary screening, comparison and sorting of new drugs.

Provide clinical information on drug action mechanisms, clinical application indications, medication methods, precautions, adverse reactions and other information in a timely manner.

(7) Edit "Pharmaceutical Newsletter"

"Pharmaceutical Newsletter" is issued every quarter. The content focuses on highlighting the characteristics of oncology specialty, promptly introducing rational drug use information, new drug introduction, drug usage status, etc. to the clinic, strengthening the connection with the clinic, and promoting safer and more reasonable clinical drug use.

In addition, the hospital's "Doctor's Medication Manual", "Basic Medication List", and "Compilation of Drug Instructions" are regularly compiled and updated.

(8) Monitoring of adverse drug reactions

Carry out adverse drug reaction monitoring and reporting work, and implement an online reporting system since 2003.

The hospital monitoring team mainly collects and organizes adverse reactions caused by clinical use of drugs, monitors the safe use of drugs, and reports the information to the National Adverse Drug Reaction Monitoring Center.

At the same time, adverse reactions are collected, sorted and analyzed, and possible adverse reactions of drugs are fed back to clinicians to facilitate rational clinical use of drugs.
