Radiology Department

The Radiology Department of Tianjin Medical University Cancer Hospital was founded in 1930 and is the earliest professional radiation medicine department established in my country.

After several generations of unremitting efforts and hard work, the department has a high reputation and influence in the domestic imaging and oncology circles.

It is at the domestic leading level in certain fields such as the diagnosis of body tumor diseases and the rapidly developing radiomics and medical imaging functional imaging technology in recent years.

The department has a complete range of imaging equipment. With the increasingly complete imaging equipment and the continuous improvement of medical imaging technology, the number of examination services provided to patients has increased year by year, exceeding 280,000 in 2017.

In 1992, the Tianjin Medical Imaging Center was established with the approval of the Tianjin Municipal Health Bureau and is located in the Radiology Department of our hospital. Since 1994, it has organized well-known experts in the field of imaging in Tianjin to come to the hospital for consultation every Thursday morning. Since its establishment, it has helped organize collective consultations on the imaging data of more than 12,000 patients with difficult rare diseases from all over the country, of which more than 50% are patients from other places.

It not only solves the patient's difficulty in seeking medical treatment, but also buys valuable treatment time for tumor patients, winning widespread social praise.

The Department of Radiology is an imaging discipline that takes clinical care as the main body and integrates the comprehensive development of medicine, teaching, research, and prevention.

The key direction of the discipline is radiomics of common malignant tumors;

Clinical application of cone beam breast CT;

Low-dose CT screening for lung cancer;

Construction of imaging platform for comprehensive drug clinical evaluation;

MRI, CT functional imaging and energy spectrum imaging, etc.

Covering malignant tumor screening, early diagnosis, diagnosis and identification of benign and malignant tumors, tumor staging, efficacy evaluation, recurrence monitoring, prognosis evaluation, etc.

Provide strong support for clinical diagnosis and treatment.

There are currently 77 staff members, including 36 doctors, including 11 doctors and 21 masters.

1 doctoral supervisor, 1 outstanding young innovative person, 1 outstanding young teacher in Tianjin universities, and 2 college-level new century talents;

There is one candidate for the chairmanship of a national academic group.

In the past three years, he has hosted or participated in more than 10 key R&D projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Natural Science Foundation and international scientific and technological cooperation, and more than 20 projects at the Tianjin Science and Technology Commission, Health and Family Planning Commission, Tianjin Medical University and hospital level projects.

Published more than 30 SCI papers.

In 2017, he received funding from the “Thirteenth Five-Year Plan” Comprehensive Investment Discipline Construction Project of Tianjin Medical University Cancer Hospital.

At the same time, he undertakes the teaching tasks of Tianjin Medical University’s medical and imaging majors and the national oncologist training class.

Each year, we recruit 4-5 doctoral and master's degree students in imaging majors.

Every year, 40-50 undergraduates from Tianjin Medical University and Mudanjiang Medical College receive training from various regions, standardized training for residents, and interns.
