Cardiopulmonary function room

Tianjin Medical University Cancer Hospital

The cardiopulmonary function room of Tianjin Medical University Cancer Hospital was founded in October 1990 and was formed by the merger of the electrocardiogram room and the pulmonary function room affiliated with the Department of Chest.

After twenty years of innovation and development, under the leadership of the department director Chen Qing, the department has grown from small to large, from weak to strong, and has gradually become an indispensable diagnostic department for various clinical departments. Whether it is the introduction of highly educated and qualified personnel, the development of new projects, or the rapid increase in workload, our changes are obvious to all.

In 2013, it was rated as a five-star department. The cardiopulmonary function department was officially renamed as the cardiopulmonary function department and promoted to a first-level department. It has been rated as an excellent department in the hospital many times.

The department has gradually developed and currently covers the following diagnostic items: twelve-lead electrocardiogram, propranolol test, atropine test, 24-hour dynamic electrocardiogram detection system, 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure detection system, and dynamic electrocardiogram and blood pressure two-in-one detection system. Pulmonary function testing includes: ventilation function measurement, diffusion function measurement (rebreathing method, one-breath method), residual function measurement, and pulse oscillation pulmonary resistance measurement.

Equipment in the department: 4 electrocardiographs: one Optoelectronic 9130, one Marquette 1200, one Foton 4010, and one Bangjian 9801.

There are three ambulatory ECG PI analysis systems, 51 24-hour ambulatory ECG recorders (including 2 button-type ambulatory ECG recorders), two ambulatory blood pressure monitoring recorders, 2 ambulatory ECG and blood pressure two-in-one recorders, and two Jaeger pulmonary function meters with IOS.

In view of the limitations of the cardiopulmonary system diseases in the cancer hospital and the lack of support from the respiratory heart ward, this department is based on the comprehensive assessment of the cardiopulmonary function of cancer patients, in order to cooperate with the corresponding invasive and non-invasive treatments for cancer patients, and to reduce the occurrence of injuries, complications and accidents as the direction and feature of the discipline construction.

There are currently 12 members in the department, including 1 deputy chief physician, 3 attending physicians, 3 supervisory nurses and 4 physicians.

Since the establishment of the department, talents have been gradually introduced, and the staff's academic qualifications have gradually improved. Currently, there are 5 master's degree students, and they have been trained and studied separately. They have participated in multiple national high-level ECG trainings, difficult ECG seminars, short-term pulmonary function training courses, and Tianjin ECG consultation and ECG reading competitions. They have also participated in national difficult ECG seminars, listened to a series of high-level lectures, and hired experts from other hospitals to give many lectures, so that the diagnostic level can keep up with the pace of general hospitals and cardiovascular specialty hospitals.

In terms of scientific research and development, he has the courage to innovate and persists in research. In the past two years, he has published 4 articles related to cardiopulmonary function assessment during surgery. He has completed the hospital-level project "Comprehensive Assessment of the Risk of Respiratory and Circulatory System Complications after Radical Resection of Lung Cancer with Multiple Indicators of Cardiopulmonary Function" and developed a mathematical model for assessment, which has paved the way for the future integration of the two disciplines.

Another special project "Study on the role of TOP2β/UCO2 pathway in doxorubicin-induced cardiotoxicity" is ongoing in order to further understand the cardiotoxic mechanism of chemotherapy drugs.

In the past two years, the undergraduate department has published four SCI articles, with the highest impact factor of 5.168, and accumulated 3 college-level projects.

Under the high pressure of the annual workload of more than 90,000 electrocardiograms, more than 9,000 dynamic electrocardiograms, more than 1,000 drug trials, more than 15,000 pulmonary function tests, and hundreds of ambulatory blood pressure tests, not a single error or dispute occurred.

The general practitioners are motivated and enterprising, constantly improving to meet the challenges of higher medical quality, diagnostic level, and scientific research technology, and ensuring the smooth work of tumor treatment.
