Interventional Therapy
Tianjin Medical University Cancer Hospital
The Interventional Therapy Department of Tianjin Medical University Cancer Hospital was formally established in June 2001 on the basis of the original Interventional Group of Radiology Department, and is a first-level clinical department.
The discipline has independent wards with 69 open beds, as well as outpatient clinics, interventional operating rooms, and minimally invasive treatment rooms.
The main equipment includes digital subtraction angiography machine, argon-helium ultra-low temperature freezing system, CT, ultrasonic diagnostic equipment, etc.
The discipline has outstanding features in the treatment of benign and malignant tumors and their comorbidities. The treatment concept is "single disease, multi-disciplinary, and multi-technical comprehensive treatment of tumors", and the development goal is "minimally invasive, efficient, and low toxicity."
Super-selective target vessel embolization is used to treat benign tumors such as liver and limb hemangiomas, uterine fibroids, and adenomyosis. Ultrasound-guided percutaneous puncture of liver and kidney cysts is treated with drug inactivation. The efficacy is remarkable or the purpose of radical surgical cure can be achieved.
Selective arterial embolization chemotherapy combined with "argon-helium knife" ultra-low temperature cryo-targeted treatment of primary and secondary malignant tumors of the head and neck, chest, abdomen, pelvis and limbs.
For the comorbidities caused by benign and malignant tumors, such as: tracheal stenosis, tracheoesophageal fistula, trachepleural fistula, esophageal stenosis, duodenal stenosis, obstructive jaundice, superior vena cava syndrome, Budd-Chiari syndrome, gastrointestinal bleeding, portal hypertension, hepatic arterial portal fistula, deep vein thrombosis of the lower limbs, tumor rupture and bleeding, spinal bone metastasis caused by malignant tumors, etc., corresponding palliative interventional symptomatic treatment is accurate and effective.
Outstanding achievements and important innovations include argon-helium cryotherapy combined with interventional treatment of solid mesenchymal tumors that are insensitive to radiotherapy and chemotherapy, clinical research on argon-helium cryotherapy for early-stage prostate and T3/T4 stage hormone-independent prostate cancer, and applied basic research on the relationship between malignant tumor load and host cell immune function, immune response after argon-helium cryotherapy for localized prostate cancer, and tumor vaccine development.
In terms of scientific research and teaching, the discipline has undertaken 2 National Science and Technology Support Plan projects, 4 National Natural Fund projects, 1 Twelfth Five-Year Plan project for the "Major Science and Technology New Drug Creation" Science and Technology Major Project, 2 Tianjin Major Anti-cancer Special Research Plans, 1 Tianjin Key Applied Basic Research Project, 2 Tianjin Natural Science Fund-funded projects, 2 Wu Jieping Medical Foundation Clinical Research Special Fund Projects, 4 Tianjin Municipal Health Bureau Scientific Research Fund and other scientific research projects.
He has presided over 5 multi-center clinical registration experimental studies, and has won 5 provincial first, second, and third-level scientific and technological achievement awards. He has published more than 90 papers in domestic core journals, 20 of which are included in SCI. He has edited 1 monograph and participated in the editing of 8 monographs.
It has trained more than 10 doctoral students and more than 30 master's students.
Currently, there are 1 professor, 4 chief physicians, 5 deputy chief physicians, 4 attending and resident physicians, 8 are currently studying for PhDs, and 7 are masters.
