View doctor detailsThe PET/CT Center of Tianjin Medical University General Hospital is an emerging department. PET-CT integrates PET and CT. PET provides detailed functional and metabolic information of the lesion, while CT provides precise anatomical positioning of the lesion. A single imaging can obtain cross-sectional images of various parts of the body. It is sensitive, accurate, specific and precise in positioning, so as to achieve the purpose of early detection of lesions and diagnosis of diseases.
Involving imaging medicine, nuclear medicine, radiation technology, nuclear technology, nuclear physics, nuclear chemistry, etc.
It requires that staff should have high quality and be as familiar with and master multi-disciplinary knowledge and skills as possible.
Physicians need to master nuclear medicine diagnosis and radiological diagnosis, as well as corresponding clinical knowledge.
Technicians need to master the principles and operation of both radiology equipment and nuclear medicine equipment.
Radiochemists need to master both nuclear physics and nuclear chemistry, as well as the principles and operations of accelerators and chemical synthesizers.
Clinical diagnostic work is divided into two parts: clinical and technical.
There are currently 10 members in the department.
The staff consists of 4 doctors, 2 nurses, 2 technicians, and 2 radiochemists, including 3 with senior professional titles.
The academic structure is as follows: 1 postdoctoral fellow, 3 PhD students, 2 master students, 3 PhD and master students, and 1 undergraduate student.
As an emerging medical technology department, maintaining the advanced level and stable operation of instruments and equipment is the basis for the smooth development of clinical imaging and scientific research work.
When the department was established, it purchased the most advanced PET-CT scanner in the world at that time, as well as a complete set of equipment for the synthesis of positron radiopharmaceuticals, such as a medical cyclotron and a fully automatic chemical synthesis module.
With the rapid development of science and technology and the rapid upgrading of equipment, in June 2016, the department completed the upgrade of PET-CT equipment and the renovation of the positron radiopharmaceutical preparation laboratory, and introduced a number of new instruments.
After the renovation work was completed, the department had a completely new look, and its instruments and equipment once again kept pace with the international forefront.
The department's updated GEDiscovery710PET-CT scanner has a brand-new imaging probe and adopts a series of hardware innovations and forward-looking technologies to achieve accurate and quantitative imaging, high-definition and low-dose fast imaging.
While completing the GMP transformation, the Positron Drug Preparation Laboratory has added advanced GETRACERlabFX2N, FX2C chemical synthesis modules, gas chromatographs from the American Agilent Company, electrochemical detectors from the American Waters Company, and well-type NaI gamma counters from the American CAPINTEC Company, as well as domestically produced quality control equipment such as ion chromatography and radioactivity detectors with relatively advanced performance.
Under the support and leadership of the department's successive leaders, all department members actively participate in scientific research while completing clinical imaging work.
Through everyone's unremitting efforts and close unity and cooperation, as well as the strong support of brother departments, the department has achieved fruitful scientific research results over the years.
The department participates in the National Science Foundation, National 863 Program, Tianjin Applied Basic Research Plan, Tianjin Higher Education Science Development Fund, Tianjin Health Bureau-funded projects, Tianjin Health Bureau public relations projects, Tianjin Science and Technology Support Plan key projects, Tianjin Medical University Science Fund and Tianjin Health Bureau projects.
Hosted and participated in 3 projects of Tianjin Municipal Science and Technology Commission.
Hosted 2 Tianjin Medical University Science Fund projects.
Among them, it won one first, second, and third prize for Tianjin Science and Technology Progress Award, one scientific and technological achievement appraisal-international advanced and domestic leading project, and four projects that filled the gaps in new technologies quoted by the Health Bureau.
He has published nearly 100 articles in various magazines, including 7 articles included in SCI, more than 30 articles in Chinese series magazines, and more than 40 articles in core journals.
In 2013, the department, together with the Department of Medical Imaging, Department of Nuclear Medicine and Department of Ultrasound, formed the Imaging Medical Diagnosis Center and successfully obtained the National Key Clinical Specialty Construction Project and received construction funding.
Teaching has always been one of the main tasks of the department.
As part of the work of the Nuclear Medicine Teaching and Research Office, the teaching work includes English teaching and internship tasks for international students, teaching and internship tasks for seven-year students of Tianjin Medical University, training tasks for doctoral and master students in imaging medicine and nuclear medicine, training tasks for a number of doctoral and master students and various researchers from Tianjin Medical University, Nankai University, Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and other units, assisting or helping them complete graduation thesis or project tasks, and teaching tasks for the Department of Medical Imaging and Biomedicine, etc.
So far, it has trained 5 doctoral students and more than 30 master's students.
The department has also gained certain achievements and honors in teaching, winning one third prize each in the basic skills competition for young teachers in Tianjin Municipality, Tianjin Medical University and General Hospital.
