Stomatology Department

The Department of Stomatology of Tianjin Medical University General Hospital was founded in the 1950s by Mr. Zhu Xitao, a famous veteran in my country’s dental field. Currently, the Department of Stomatology has a total of 51 medical staff.

There is 1 senior doctor, 11 deputy senior doctors, and 21 intermediate and junior doctors, including 3 doctors and 21 masters.

There are 8 intermediate nursing staff, 8 junior nursing staff, and 2 technicians, who are junior nursing staff.

The general department has 32 beds and 33 comprehensive dental treatment units, divided into four professional groups: oral medicine, oral and maxillofacial surgery, dental restoration and orthodontics.

The Department of Stomatology, led by famous experts Professor Li Keli and Professor Sun Genglin, focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of oral and maxillofacial tumors and oral and maxillofacial trauma. It has rich clinical experience in the diagnosis and treatment of head and neck tumors, temporomandibular joint diseases, and jaw fractures.

Under the leadership of Professor Gao Jinfu, the department focuses on systematic treatment of periodontal disease, integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine treatment of oral mucosal diseases, and the Department of Oral Prosthodontics focuses on the treatment of temporomandibular joint disorders, orthopedic treatment of sleep apnea syndrome, complex fixed restoration, removable restoration, implant restoration, total denture and other repairs, and orthodontics mainly carries out fixed appliance treatment.

The number of outpatient and emergency visits is about 40,000 per year, the number of inpatients is about 700 per year, and the number of surgeries is over 600 per year.

Responsible for the teaching of the five-year and seven-year dental majors of the Tianjin Medical University Clinical College and the English teaching of the International College, training 33 postgraduate students, and applying for more than 20 scientific research projects, including municipal, bureau-level, school-level, hospital-level and other projects.

He has published more than 240 papers and developed more than 10 new technologies, many of which have filled the gaps in the introduction of new technologies in Tianjin.
