The department was founded in 1950 by Professors Xue Xuanying and Han Shouju, the famous Chinese pediatric surgery experts. After the joint efforts of pediatric surgical medical staff such as Professors Sun Kronong and Hu Wenquan, the department has now introduced Professor Sun Daqing, a pediatric surgery expert and doctoral supervisor, as the subject leader. The medical team includes 3 chief physicians, 2 deputy chief physicians, 2 attending physicians, and 3 residents, all with graduate degrees or above. Two of the experts have experience in studying abroad and have established cooperative relationships with many world-renowned hospitals in the United States, Germany, etc.

We have an excellent nursing team, all of whom are nurses or above and have many years of rich nursing experience in pediatrics and surgery.

It has an inpatient ward with high standards and strict planning and planning, and a secondary care room. The department is equipped with high-definition laparoscopy system, electronic fiber endoscopy system, children's cystoscopy system, children's ultrasound diagnosis and treatment system, newborn care system, children's ventilator, children's postoperative recovery system, etc., with advanced and complete equipment.

The department specializes in the treatment of defecation disorders such as fecal incontinence and constipation. With the concept of minimally invasive, invisible and painless, the department currently performs laparoscopy, thoracoscopy, gastrointestinal fiber endoscopy, cystoscopy, elastic intramedullary titanium needle minimally invasive treatment of fractures and other minimally invasive surgeries.

The outpatient operating room performs minimally invasive operations under local anesthesia to treat children's phimosis, pigmented nevus, hemangioma, lipoma, fibroma, ganglion cyst resection, nail extraction, lymph node biopsy and other surgeries, saving patients from the risks of general anesthesia and saving hospitalization costs.

The Pediatric Surgery Clinic of the General Hospital is located on the 3rd floor of the outpatient clinic building of the hospital, and the ward is located on the 8th floor of the emergency pediatrics building. It accepts patients all day long from Monday to Saturday and on Sunday morning to protect the health of children in Tianjin.
