Vascular Surgery Department

The Vascular Surgery Department of Tianjin Medical University General Hospital currently has 27 medical staff and a medical team of 11, including 1 chief physician, 6 deputy chief physicians, 2 attending physicians, and 2 resident physicians.

There is 1 doctoral supervisor and 2 master's degree supervisors.

The diseases treated cover the main diseases of vascular surgery, including aortic dissection, aortic aneurysm, carotid artery, subclavian artery, vertebral artery, renal artery, mesenteric artery, splenic artery, lower limb artery occlusion and tumor-like lesions, deep vein thrombosis, varicose veins and venous insufficiency, Budd-Chiari syndrome, vena cava leiomyoma and malignant tumors, retroperitoneal tumors, carotid body tumors and other vascular surgical diseases.

Among them, there are an average of 200 aortic surgeries per year, 1,000 peripheral arteriovenous interventional surgeries and visceral artery interventional surgeries, and 300 open surgeries.

The department's current cutting-edge work focuses on the interventional treatment of aortic diseases, especially the extracorporeal fenestration technology of the aortic arch and visceral area, which is at the domestic leading level. It has taken the lead in establishing the Aortic Disease Diagnosis and Treatment Center of Tianjin Medical University General Hospital and conducts related scientific research.

At the same time, we continue to explore and make progress in other fields of vascular surgery.

The department currently conducts more than 20 clinical trials, completed and implemented 10 national natural science and provincial and ministerial level projects, published more than 10 SCI papers, and dozens of Chinese series articles.

It has trained more than 10 doctoral and master's degree students.
