Allergy Department

Allergology at Tianjin Medical University General Hospital is an emerging science. It has only been more than 100 years since its inception. Allergology in China has a history of more than 50 years.

The hospital is one of the first hospitals in the country to carry out allergy work. It has been conducting diagnosis and treatment of allergic diseases for 30 years since 1986.

In 1986, Dr. Ma Ruiqin established an allergy department in the Department of Otolaryngology. After 15 years of unremitting efforts by medical staff such as Ma Ruiqin, Liu Ruiling, Qu Baisheng, Wu Houfen, Zhao Yuqin, and Li Guihua, the allergy department was established in 2001. It is the only department in Tianjin that specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of allergic diseases, filling a gap in our city.

It has successively established an allergy laboratory, organized continuing education classes for clinicians, and hosted Tianjin Annual Allergy Conference, free patient clinics and other activities to popularize the knowledge of allergy prevention and treatment and improve the diagnosis and treatment skills of clinicians.

The department was the first in Tianjin to carry out sublingual allergen-specific immunotherapy, and was also the first hospital in China to start such treatment, reaching the internationally advanced level.

Participated in the compilation of the first national higher education textbook "Clinical Allergology" for basic, clinical, preventive, and oral medicine majors. Now the medical university has applied to open an elective course on allergy, and is responsible for clinical teaching at the medical university.

Participated in a number of national and municipal scientific research projects, won 4 Science and Technology Committee Achievement Awards, and filled 1 gap in medical technology.

There are currently 6 personnel, including 1 chief physician, 1 deputy chief physician, 1 attending physician, 1 resident physician, and 2 supervisory nurses.

Liu Ruiling serves as the deputy director of the Allergy Branch of the Tianjin Medical Association, a member (and secretary) of the China Allergy Professional Committee of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, the deputy director of the Allergy Professional Committee of the Tianjin Society of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, and a standing member of the Allergy Professional Committee of the Tianjin Medical Experts Association.

Sui Xiuli serves as a standing committee member of the Allergy Branch of Tianjin Medical Association.

The subject of allergy is an emerging subject with great development prospects. For more than ten years, we have started from small things, carried out discipline construction in a down-to-earth manner, carried out work in a down-to-earth manner, corrected deficiencies, cultivated young backbones, continuously improved academic and social influence, and achieved good social and economic benefits.
