The Otolaryngology Department of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital was established in 1978. It is a department that combines traditional Chinese medicine with modern medical technology. It currently has 5 medical staff, including 2 chief physicians, 1 deputy chief physician, 1 attending physician, and 1 nurse; 2 of them have master's degrees. There are 5 open beds, with an annual outpatient volume of nearly 15,000. 2. Professional features and scope of diagnosis and treatment Professional features: The department always adheres to the development direction of focusing on traditional Chinese medicine, paying equal attention to traditional Chinese and Western medicine, and integrating traditional Chinese and Western medicine. It organically combines the overall dialectical treatment of traditional Chinese medicine with modern medical examination and treatment, and combines traditional Chinese and Western medicine to treat allergic rhinitis, sinusitis, and emergencies. We have accumulated rich experience in the treatment of frequently-occurring, difficult and surgical diseases of the ear, nose and throat, such as deafness, neurological tinnitus, deafness, otogenic vertigo, acute and chronic pharyngitis, etc., achieved obvious therapeutic effects, created certain social and economic benefits, and exerted a certain influence among peers. At the same time, we focus on the research and development of special drugs for specific diseases in clinical practice, and have successively developed rhinitis I pills, rhinitis II pills, rhinitis ointment, Baicaoliangyan green tea, Baicaoliangyan black tea and other in-hospital specialist preparations.Scope of diagnosis and treatment: Use integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine to treat common and frequently-occurring diseases such as neurological tinnitus and deafness, sudden deafness, chronic rhinitis, sinusitis, allergic rhinitis, nasal polyps, acute and chronic pharyngitis. Carry out high-definition electronic endoscopy of the ears, nose, and throat, and perform nasal septum correction and nasal polyp removal surgeries under the endoscope. 3. Department Equipment The department is equipped with imported workbench, imported high-definition endoscope system, pure tone hearing threshold audiometer, microwave therapy instrument and other equipment. 4. Scientific research projects The department currently undertakes one Inner Mongolia Natural Fund project "The Mechanism of Mongolian Medicine in Allergic Rhinitis" and two Inner Mongolia Department of Health Fund projects.
