The Neonatology Department of Hohhot No. 1 Hospital is one of the first hospitals in the autonomous region to establish a neonatology department. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit took the lead in carrying out mechanical ventilation treatment for critically ill neonates, enteral and parenteral nutritional support technology for critically ill neonates, and pulmonary surfactant therapy. It has successfully treated a large number of extremely low and ultra-low weight premature infants, as well as various types of critically ill infants, and has greatly reduced the mortality and disability rate of newborns (the smallest surviving premature infant currently weighs 670 grams). The Neonatology Department has a high-quality medical and nursing team that routinely performs umbilical vein catheterization, PICC catheterization, axillary vein puncture, exchange transfusion, bird's nest care, and premature infant development support and care. The ward implements a 24-hour monitoring system. It also has a family-style nursing ward. It is equipped with the most advanced normal-frequency and high-frequency ventilators for neonates in China, various invasive or non-invasive multi-functional monitors, 24-hour EEG monitoring, bedside color ultrasound machine, a new transport system with respiratory support, and provides 24-hour transport services for critically ill neonates. It is a municipal-level critical neonatal treatment center. Responsible for the training of neonatal resuscitation projects in various banners, counties and districts, and successfully held municipal-level neonatal resuscitation competitions for two consecutive years. At the same time, he won the second prize at the autonomous region level and the first prize at the municipal level in the Neonatal Resuscitation Competition.The service concept of the department is to use excellent technology, rigorous management and reverence for life, never give up any little life, and return harmony and happiness to the family.
