Neurosurgery

The Neurosurgery Department of Hohhot First Hospital was established in 1990. The first director was Ma Xinmin, the second director was Hu Jingmin, and the current director is Wang Weizhi. Since its establishment 30 years ago, the department’s business level has improved year by year. It is now divided into three disciplines: vascular group, trauma group, and tumor group. It currently has 43 beds and an average annual bed utilization rate of 93%.

There are currently 12 doctors, including 10 with master's degrees, 2 with bachelor's degrees, 3 chief physicians, 3 deputy chief physicians, 5 attending physicians, and 1 resident physician.

There are 20 nurses, including 16 with undergraduate degrees, 4 with associate degrees, 2 deputy chief nurses, 3 supervisory nurses, 12 nurse practitioners and 3 nurses.

Neurosurgery is a provincial key department.

There are more than 4,000 outpatient and emergency visits per year, more than 700 discharges per year, the average hospitalization day is 17.1 days, there are 240 surgeries per year, the annual business income is more than 15 million yuan, and the cure and improvement rate is 97.5%.

Neurosurgery is a comprehensive discipline integrating medical treatment, scientific research, teaching, and preventive health care.

At present, in neurosurgery, neuroendoscopic technology is the specialty diagnosis and treatment technology of the department, including neuroendoscopic surgical treatment of ventricular diseases, neuroendoscopic skull base tumor resection and neuroendoscopic diagnosis and treatment of hypertensive cerebral hemorrhage. It has the advantages of less trauma, low cost and good results.

Regarding cerebrovascular diseases, interventional diagnosis and treatment technology for hemorrhagic cerebrovascular diseases has developed well.

In terms of nursing care, picc technology has been widely implemented, providing good guarantee for the establishment of intravenous access for patients in the department.

In terms of scientific research and teaching, the Department of Neurosurgery continues to summarize cases and clinical diagnosis and treatment methods, and currently has established a neurosurgery microanatomy laboratory.

Provides a good platform for scientific research and clinical skills.

At present, one scientific research project has been completed, "Clinical Analysis of Rebleeding of Hypertensive Cerebral Hemorrhage", in cooperation with Shanghai Huashan Hospital, and participated in the National Cerebral Hemorrhage Cohort Study.

In terms of academic exchange activities, the Department of Neurosurgery continues to respond to the national medical reform policy and continuously participates in and holds academic activities.

Currently, it is a unit of the Neurosurgery Specialty Alliance and Neurointerventional Alliance of Beijing Tiantan Hospital Affiliated to Capital Medical University.

And we continue to implement the work of medical consortium, and carry out academic exchange work in Tuzuo Banner, Tuo County, Liangcheng County, and Helin County.

In terms of equipment, the neurosurgery department has advanced surgical auxiliary systems such as Leica intraoperative microscope, intraoperative navigation system, intraoperative color ultrasound, and intraneural canal.

The department currently has life support systems such as ECG monitors, micropumps, infusion pumps, and ventilators.

The service concept of neurosurgery is: everything is patient-centered, people-oriented, adhering to the spirit of craftsmanship, and providing refined services to patients.
