Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery

The Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery Department of Hohhot First Hospital is a clinical department established under the leadership of the Municipal Health Commission and the care and help of the hospital Party Committee. It is a window department that represents the high, sophisticated and cutting-edge surgical technology of our hospital. It has close collaborative relationships with Beijing Fuwai Hospital, Beijing Anzhen Hospital, and Peking University Third Hospital.

Department composition:

The department currently has 2 chief physicians, 1 attending physician, 3 resident physicians, and 12 nurses. The department physicians and monitoring nurses have all gone to work after undergoing rigorous training in Beijing Fuwai Hospital, Beijing Anzhen Hospital and other hospitals.

Instrument settings:

The department has advanced equipment, including one German MAQUET extracorporeal circulation machine, one MAQUETECMO, four German Drager ventilators, one Drager full-function anesthesia machine, one balloon counterpulsation pump, two ACT detectors, two intelligent GE monitors and Philips monitors, one internal and external defibrillator, two pacemakers, one blood gas analyzer, one bedside X-ray machine, and one echocardiography machine.

The above medical equipment meets the needs of cardiac surgery to a large extent.

Diagnosis and treatment scope:

1. Surgical treatment of congenital heart disease;

2. Surgical treatment of coronary heart disease;

3. Surgical treatment of heart valve disease;

4. Interventional, surgical and hybrid treatment of aortic dissection;

5. Minimally invasive cardiac surgical treatment: small incision repair of atrial and ventricular septal defects;

Small incision ductus arteriosus ligation;

Small incision coronary artery bypass grafting on the left anterior chest.

6. Surgical treatment of cardiac trauma, cardiac tumors, constrictive pericarditis, and hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy.

7. Emergency surgery: emergency bypass surgery, emergency heart rupture repair, and emergency surgical treatment of aortic dissection.
